Vent/whine : Mastitis- lightning boobs

Hi. Dying here. The pain is crazy. Has anyone experienced what I can only describe as lightning bolts or electric shock type feelings through their boobs when they've had mastitis? It comes out of nowhere but also if I graze my boob on something, or extend my arm on the affected side... I get this stinging shocking feeling that goes from my one main lumpy spot and goes straight to my armpit.

    I had a bad case of mastitis but I did not experience the lightening down the arm as you describe. I hope you are on antibiotics as that was the only thing that worked for me to finally feel better!

    Turned out to be two 5cm abscesses in there along with mastitis.

    Again... Rest of my post disappeared. Had to have them surgically drained under sedation. Much better.

    Oh sucks! I was goign to say that i know the lightening boobs feeling though. Feels like jets of electricity are coursing through your boobs. 

    For me it's not a terrible feeling. It's not pleasant but i figured it had something to do with changes in milk production. I'll keep an eye on it though.

    Me me me!!!! I imagine it like a little zapping lightning impulses. I had mastitis I was on a seven day anabiotic and I still feel it. Also, the boob that had mastitis get super itchy randomly like deep inside. How did you know that you had an abscess what did the doctor do you to figure it out?

    The pain was about 1000 times worse suddenly. There was one area I couldn't even handle touching at all. I didn't know it was abscesses though, the midwife had one look at it and gasped. She knew right away because of how red and awful it was. The best thing to do is if you have mastitis, make sure the doc has seen it. If you're on antibiotics you should be ok. I "waited" a few days because I knew I had an appointment on Thursday. I should have pages them on Monday and had antibiotics started. I might have been able to prevent the abscess.
