What are you ladies doing to get your pre mommy bodies back?

I've lost almost all of my baby weight( woo-hoo breast feeding) but I feel squishy and jiggly,  looking to tone up and lose about 10 more lbs, but I can't seem to find the motivation to work out.  I would love to go to the gym bUT who the heck has time for that ?! What are you ladies doing to get back in shape ?

My hope is that once we get into the spring and we have more daylight in the evening, and (fingers crossed) LO will be sleeping better at night, I can just slip on my running shoes, escape out the front door and get at least a few miles in a few times a week.  For now at least my daily commute involves some walking, and I take the stairs instead of the elevator.  Once they clear sidewalks and paths in our neighborhood, I can ride my bike to the metro instead of driving.  Trying to fit things in to my daily routine!

Re: What are you ladies doing to get your pre mommy bodies back?

  • I signed up to the gym on NYE and have yet to go! I can only go in the evening since my exercise classes aren't on in the day and also need my husband to get back from work so he can watch LO. So in the evening I rather stay in with them both, also, I find it hard to get my ass out of the house after being home all day. I have to lose 20kg!!! I can't believe I let myself go so much. I am trying to eat better thou. Not buying sweets or crisps and filled up the fruit bowl. Working on cutting out the take aways now :-)
  • When my baby naps and my 3 year old is in preschool or is napping as well, I try and do a workout cd. They are about 20-30 minutes so it's not too bad and trust me, getting the motivation to get up and do it is hard!
  • My mom has been watching my LO so I can go to the gym and when she can't watch her I go on our exercise bike in the basement and put LO in the swing. Even if I only get 10 min I feel better. I also have a bunch of DVDs like pp mentioned but I rarely use them. If I can get outside I take her for a walk, but my neighbors refuse to shovel their sidewalk so that's a little more difficult. my problem is I work my ass off then I eat JUNK. Absolute junk. I know I'm doing it I just don't know how to change. I'll make a healthy dinner I'll just pick on crap all day. It's so bad. So the scale has barely moved. :(
  • Well I gave up drinking any type of drink other than water and apple juice. I also go to Zumba for one hour that has seemed to work for me. I have only lost 5 pounds but those 5 pounds show
  • I use my breaks at work to go for walks. We have a gym in our apartment complex that I'm going to start taking advantage of, again. My goal is to lose about 15 lbs. and I'll be content. My husband loves my post-baby body but I'm like you -- feeling a bit squishy. Plus, I want to feel good and look amazing for our anniversary trip in May.

Before the baby, especially while I was in college, walking helped a lot. I made sure to park far from buildings to force myself to walk further. I also ate a salad and fruit each day for lunch.

  • I get up and pump at 5:45am to make a 6:45 yoga class 1-2 times a week before DH leaves for work and just don't buy anything remotely bad at the store. Then being stuck home with LO every day, I'm forced to eat something healthy!  I'm down 20 of 30 lbs but I swear my boobs weigh 5 lbs each now
  • Baby is still very fussy so I can't really take the time to work out. I'm in Texas and the weather has been beautiful lately (sorry not sorry to those in the NE) so we've been going on walks. It helps calms his fussies and gives me some exercise. I've been doing portion control which had helped.
  • I've been able to workout about 5-6 times per week.  I really wish the weather was nicer (I'm in the Midwest) so that I could take LO out for walks, but it will get there.  I'm still on maternity leave though, so I feel that it will be a lot harder when I get back to work.  I've been trying to eat really well also, but I definitely have more treat meals than I used to.  I'm trying to get back into a routine of healthy eating, and it keeps getting easier.  I don't need to lose any pounds, but things definitely are softer and looser than they used to be, so it's really about lifting some weights and cleaning up my eating.

  • My gym has some awesome strollersize/boot camp classes that I can bring baby to. I'm so thankful for them! It's also the only time my baby will nap longer than 45 minutes!
  • I signed up for a Stroller Strides group thing but have yet to go to my first class! Since I have the appetite of a teenage linebacker (thanks breastfeeding!) with no intention of dieting, I have to do squats and lunges when LO is napping.
  • I'm doing Weight Watchers online and trying to get in a couple walks with the stroller each week.  If don't have the time or energy for much else.
  • I don't eat entire bags of sour patch kids?

  • I have 6lbs of baby weight left to loose (gained 35). I've just started the beach body program Max out 30- it's 30 mins long and I do it while LO is in the jolly jumper during her first morning play session. I'm also wearing my Fitbit to try and reach my goal of 10,000 steps per day. That has been much harder to achieve- I hate walking outside when it's cold! So hopefully going to the mall to walk around there this afternoon.
  • I've started bikini body mommy website's 90 day challenge since it's free and only a 20 minute workout everyday (day 7 is rest days). It gives me a chance to get active in the house while baby naps, or after she goes down for the night. I really like it because she's a mom who just had a baby (6-8 weeks PP) and is filming the videos in her own living room. On day 1 she's out of shape too and struggling with the workout herself so I kind of feel like we're beginning in the same place and I'm not watching some totally ripped person leading the videos and me trying to keep up with that. Her transformation at the end of each 90 day challenge (each time she has a child) is pretty incredible!
