Insanely thirsty in the mornings

Every morning I woke up and would feel ridiculously thirsty, no matter how much water I drank at night. Does this happen to anyone else? From what I read online I'm worried it's a sign of diabetic...

Re: Insanely thirsty in the mornings

  • It's also a symptom of pregnancy. Try not to worry until you have had a GD test. I get super thirsty too (at night), and it was my first pregnancy symptom as well.

  • Oh yeah, I'll even wake up in the middle of the night thirsty. Obviously you aren't drinking water for hours at a time while sleeping. It makes sense to be thirsty. Heck, I woke up really thirsty pre-pregnancy.

  • It's bc you haven't been hydrating all night. You've been sleeping. You've probably been peeing it out all night too.

  • I take a full glass of water to bed with me every night and it's usually gone by the time my alarm goes off. I wake up and drink it throughout the night. You could try that.
  • I wake up throughout the night thirsty and extremely thirsty in the morning. And I just had my glucose test done and everything came back normal
  • I wake up really thirsty sometimes too. I keep a water bottle full of water at my bedside at night so if I wake up super thirsty in the middle of the night, I don't even have to get out of bed.

  • Me too. Since the beginning of pregnancy I sleep with a large
glass of water and sometimes one glass isn't even enough.
  • I have to keep water on the bedside table, and usually refill throughout the night. It's just your body needs extra with LO growing
  • It's pretty normal . I take sips of water every time I pee through the night . Then in the morning the only thing I can drink is ice water for awhile then I am ready for a small coffee .
  • I am SO thirsty at night and in the morning.  It's so frustrating that I'm not as thirsty during the day when it's not a big deal to chug water and pee every half hour.  But I start to go to bed and suddenly have to down a half a glass of water.  Even then, I'll keep a full large bottle next to the bed and often end up re-filling it before the night is over.  I just keep waking up every hour or so and chug/pee/snooze chug/pee/snooze...
