I think snark is a huge bonding moment on a bmb. It really seems to happen when everyone is comfortable and the board culture is established. (I'm not talking about being unnecessarily mean, I'm talking about keeping it in the TOU)
Since having my DD I no longer like my cat, actually all animals annoy the crap out of me. I used to love my cat or my moms puppy. I can't stand them now! what is wrong with me!
I don't like pregnancy announcements that have an u/s pic in them, or posting any type of u/s pic on social media. I don't really have a reason, I just think that's something you share privately with people who ask, but otherwise there's no reason to wave it around everywhere.
@lalalorelai Yes. Posting the AS with an arrow pointing to the penis is the worst. You are literally posting a naked picture and saying "look at my kids WEENUR!"
alalorelai ME TOO!!!! And people who display them - I mean mine are on my mirror right now, but I'm not going to blow it up and hang it over the mantle. My MIL has asked us several times for DD's u/s profile pic because she has my niece and nephew u/s pics literally on display in her curio cabinet in her dining room. I think it's so freakin' weird. I just go oh yeah, we probably have those somewhere, and then never bring it up again, when she asks lol.
Also, I really dislike dogs. My sister has one, it's a puggle, and after almost 4 years I'm starting to warm up to her, but I really just in general don't like them.
I also dislike cats, I just don't feel like I can trust them the way I can trust a dog. I'm speaking totally on a general feeling, I've never actually owned a cat.
I guess my UO is that my pregnancy announcement for DS was an ultrasound pic. No arrow to the genitals just a profile of his face. I feel like some of the labor/delivery pictures some people post are WAY more personal and oversharey.
@mumblefrog86 I've been the seem way. I have two dogs and I just want them to leave me the heck alone. I also feel like they've been more under foot than normal.
In response to the US pics - I was almost 8 when my sister was born and I was soooooo excited about this. I wanted to bring some of the US pictures to show and tell. The first one I grabbed was the one confirming the sex of my sister with her genitals front and center, I had no idea what I was looking at! But my mom still laughs about it!

I don't know if this is unpopular, but I hate mass emails that are asking for something. I just got an email from a "friend" (we are not that close, our husbands work together) to sign up for a meal train for them. She is due any day now with their first child. I have already extended an offer to help if she needed it previously. I guess I would never expect anyone to come bring me meals, let alone send out a form for people to fill out?
@texasmama2014 It is. I was shocked. I read the email again and it said something about special instructions. They listed specific restaurants and foods they wanted along with an hour timeframe in which said food could be dropped off.

I have heard of a family member organizing this, but ugh so tacky to do it for yourself!

Edited because I cannot spell anymore.
WHOA! That's along the lines of asking for money for your wedding. Maybe if someone else was doing this FOR you, but certainly not on your behalf or doing it yourself. My goodness.....people have no tact.

Wow. That is pretty tacky. A friend of mine a while back gave birth 2 months premature, and her daughter was in the NICU for a long time. Her mom set up a meal train for her, and sent the email to people who had already offered to bring food or help. That was a key factor, it wasn't just sent out to random friends. That way the food could be spread out over time rather than dropped off all at once on their doorstep. But to do it for yourself is bad form.
This may be a UO for some but... I hate all of the multi-level marketing product lines that so many of my friends, family, and co-workers are involved in lately. Between Arbonne, ItWorks!,31 Bags, and others, sometimes it's like my facebook feed has turned into an online shopping site. Regardless of whether or not the products work, I just think this business model is bad news. It asks people to mix business with friendship/family which is always so awkward. And I always question, if the products are that great and profitable, why are they not in stores?
I hate when people get their panties in a twist over the use of the words sex and gender. Omg we are all grownups! You know what they meant.
@dressagedarling how was this email worded? I'm sooo curious. They actually listed restaurants? Like hey buy us food ftom red robin, here's our order???
@Snaps816 YES!!! I absolutely hate it! If I wanted to buy product from you, I would. But I'm friends with these people because I want to be friends. Not because I want to be a customer.
@cm716 It's from this website mealtrain.com Under their "special instructions", it literally lists restaurants in the area with what they would want ordered, along with meals they would like people to prepare for them.
@DressageDarling that is so tacky! Maybe they could've tried doing freezer meals themselves instead of asking their friends to do the work/spend the money. The restaurant thing goes a bit far to me because how hard would it be for them to call an order in and just go pick it up. I would never consider doing this for myself! It's a great idea for friends to do for each other though, if someone is willing to organize it.
I can't be friends with all u cat and dog haters.....lol 2 cats 2 dogs (and new puppy comes next weekend)3 fish tanks.why yes,yes I do work at a vet hospital lol
I kind of have a reverse UO - my DH doesnt wear his wedding ring and it doesn't bother me, like at all.
My mom and friends think it's the worst thing in the world but, I honestly don't care. He broke his ring finger right after our wedding so it makes his knuckle swell and get achy when he wears it and I would feel really petty forcing him to wear it just to prove a point, I guess.
Also anyone that is not a fan of dogs would seriously loooove my pup - he's so adorable, just sayin lol jk
Where is the snark towards the July bumpies?! I must have missed that!
@Mrsrundell my DH lost his wedding ring almost 2 years ago and we've never replaced it. It's something that we keep meaning to do but just haven't gotten around to it. People always get so shocked by it, but it doesn't bother me at all. I don't love or trust him any more or less with a ring on his finger, we both know we're married and that's what matters. Not saying there's anything wrong with a ring, I actually do want him to get a new one, but that's more because I think there's something sexy about it
I think August is a horrible time to have a baby. I am not looking forward to being huge in summer. It's only legal to take so many clothes off and I'm terrified I'm going to swell like a balloon. I also hate the thought of having a little baby going into winter and the brutal cold. My dd was an April baby and it was perfect timing. I had no swelling and when I got warm I could take layers off and still feel comfortable.

My husband takes his ring off at night because his hands tend to fall asleep. It's a long story on the reason why.

I'm nervous about the hot temps, too! Plus, with Zika virus the advice I've been hearing is to wear long pants and sleeves to protect against mosquitoes -- yeah, right! It will be at least in the 90's in August where I live. The one thing I'm thankful for with a summer due date is not having to buy maternity clothes for winter. Winter items like coats and sweaters are much more expensive that summer clothes.

@Bookhousegirl yes!!! I think a lot of them are really beautiful, but feel free to leave the ones of the lower regions off the internet.
