The doctor believes I have a Single Umbilical Artery, which can carry with it several birth defects. Apparently her heart, kidneys, and some of her other organs look small for the original EDD. (Which always seemed off to me because of timing) He took many pictures of the heart so he could get a second opinion from the fetal cardiologist. The cardiologist said he did not see any apparent defects but he wants to see more images in 2 weeks. My doctor said he is not ready to make any diagnosis at this point he just needs to watch her closely, which he assured me he is doing.
Regarding the placenta he said he is starting to see some signs of placental insufficiency. I apparently have several factors that increase my risk of this but he said it is abnormal to see it this early in a pregnancy, even with those risk factors. Due to my history (3 miscarriages and 1 stillborn) he did not want to cause more anxiety, this is why he tried to remain vague. I asked him to be up front from now on and keep me informed of everything. At this point he is monitoring and will continue to do so. He really felt like he would have answers at our next appointment, which is February 9th. He wants us to consider a amnio, even though the genetic testing was good and there were no soft markers at the NT scan, because SUA is typically seen with chromosomal abnormalities. He requested that I PLEASE stay off Google. Last night I felt better about getting answers I needed but today I am more concerned about my baby girl. Thanks to everyone for the support.
He explained that he will basically do another AS on the 9th and at that point will determine the need for a fetal echo.
I'm a nervous wreck today. I'm trying my best to keep moving forward and not worry. Just trying to keep my mind on other things.

Crap. I was really hoping for good news. But, lets focus on the positive - I think it's a good sign that the fetal cardiologist didn't see anything abnormal. She/he is the specialist right? So take that into account and hope maybe your doctor was being overly cautious.
As for the placenta issue - lets keep our fingers crossed that the issues he's worried about are less significant than he thinks.
Is he a specialist also?
In any case, I can understand how stressed you are - it SUCKS. I hope for the very best and keep us updated! So happy you got that call - and that you clarified that your doc should be telling you everything.
Thinking of you guys!!!
Thanks to everyone for you thoughts and prayers. They are so appreciated at this time.
