Implantation Bleeding?TW LOSS Update in comments

Had bleeding over the weekend, bright red, more than spotting, like a lighter period day. Got to have an ultrasound this morning. Everything looks great, thankfully! The Dr said that because everything looks good, there is nothing to be worried about, the bleeding is likely caused by the placenta while it is "digging in" looking for a blood supply. He called it implantation bleeding. I have heard of implantation bleeding, but got the impression it would occur earlier (I am 7 weeks) and be lighter. I did not have this with my older two, so naturally it scared the heck out of me. Does anybody have experience with this?

I had it my first pregnancy, but it came exactly on the day of my missed period. I still POAS bc I had other crazy pregnancy symptoms.

I had it at six weeks. Just like you I thought it would happen earlier on.

I had implantation bleeding with my third pregnancy. It was light spotting (barely needed a pantyliner) for a day a couple days before my period was due. I thought it was my period starting early, but when it disappeared, I tested.

Thanks for your replies. Hoping the bleeding stops soon so I can stop worrying.

ETA- stop worrying about that, I mean. I will of course, find something else to worry about.

And I started bleeding really heavily last night around dinner time. Went to the ER. Baby is no longer there. I must have passed it without realizing with the heavy bleeding. The rollercoaster I've been on since I started bleeding on Saturday and then had a great ultrasound on Monday and now this, is crazy.

I'm fortunate to have my two boys at home and have never gone through this before, so it's a little surreal feeling right now.

@mrt - I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I went through the same roller coaster where I saw the heartbeat (the ER docs told me it was a vanishing twin) and thought everything was fine. Just a few days later the bleeding came back and I miscarried. Hugs to you during this difficult time. Hang in there momma!
