Unwanted travel system

So while I was pregnant my husband and I got this really huge travel system that didn't fit in my car. We were on a budget and I wasn't thinking about anything so I saw cheap, cute, and I got it. It wasn't until the day we went home from the hospital that the stroller didn't fit in the car. I threw away the box and receipt as soon as I put it together. I ended up buying a new car seat and stroller and now I'm stuck with this hunk of junk I only used twice.
Does anyone know what I can do with it? Will babies r us buy it back without the box and receipt? I heard they have a buy back event for car seats and stuff but is that only for items that have been recalled or items that have expired?

    You could try a consignment shop like Once Upon A Child.

    The buy back event is not just recalled or expired items. It's for everything. They probably only do store credit though

    You could donate it to a family in need. I did that with one I got from a small shower and the family was very grateful.

    @GoogleMD I've tried calling and asking...but they didn't give me an actual answer. I go in today to pick up some things so I'll try asking again!

    @QueenSloth I remember either getting an email or a flier in the mail about it right before the last one. If you're signed up for emails or get their ads in the mail you should get a notification

    Was it on your registry?
    Babies r us will take back anything on your registry for one year for any reason. We just exchanged our Britax travel system bc LO sweats so bad in the car seat and it was used for the last two months.

    There are also usually local parent exchanges on Facebook where parents can buy/sell/trade children's items.  I've found some amazing deals on mine.  It's also a great place to recoup a little bit of money on baby's outgrown clothes.
    If there's something strange underneath the hood.  Who you gonna call?  Your Doctor.  If there's something weird and it don't look good.  Who you gonna call?  Your Doctor.  Immediately.  If it's new, painful, and possibly pregnancy related get your ass off the internet and call your doctor.  It's for your health and your child's.

    Most retailers have an open exchange policy so they should take it back as is but you'll only get store credit. However, a store credit to BRU doesn't seem like it would go to waste.

    I had the same issue with my stroller not fitting in the car it's MASSIVE. I'm so bitter because they never mentioned when we were picking it out that u would need an SUV or VAN to use it!! We had already been using the car seat by the time we discovered this and has also thrown out the box. I still have the receipt tho. Let me know what they end up saying at toys r us!

    You may have better luck once spring hits and people want to get out and walk again.  If you're in a cold area (even if it's just cold for your area and not necessarily what a New Englander or Midwesterner might think is cold) it would keep people from buying strollers and other (mostly) outdoor activity items.

    @first777 I did it! I was able to go in a week ago and return it! No receipt, no box! It was paid for half credit card half cash so I think they looked it up that way. They just asked for some info and gave us a full refund and took the damn thing back! The trade in event is coming up so you'll probably have an easier time with that.
