Urinary tract dilation - any experience?

Spoke with a nurse from my OB's office this morning, and she said just about everything looked normal in our anatomy scan, with one exception: They noted some dilation of (vessels in the?) urinary tract. She says my doc doesn't think we should be concerned at the moment; it's often caused by maternal hormones and may resolve itself, and I'll have another US around 34 weeks to check again. I know I must still have a hormone rush going on, since I'm still sick, and I trust my OB, so I'm not terribly worried, but I am curious -- anyone else have this experience with a prior pregnancy? Did it resolve on its own?

  • I haven't. Just didn't want to click and not respond. Hope others can provide more insight!

  • I'm sorry no experience but FX it's a non issue that clears up by your next scan!

  • FTM and no experience, but if doc is worried try not to worry yourself...easier said than done, right
  • No experience with this but sending thoughts and prayers! I think if it were anything concerning they'd be investigating it further. Try not to worry mama :)

  • Thanks, all! I'm trying not to stress out about it (and trying to resist the temptation to Google...), but you know how hard it can be to not worry about every little thing.
