Week/ fruit: 26/Head of lettuce or a bowling pin according to Ovia
Rants/raves/symptoms: I think it is amazing that he is opening his eyes this week! My favorite update by far. We are all done with the nursery which makes me feel so much better as I have been exhausted all of the time lately. Heartburn has also been terrible.
Upcoming appointments: Saturday for our elective 3D and then next Wednesday for a growth scan
Questions for the group: N/A
GTKY: Any weird pregnancy dreams lately? Last night I had a dream that people kept coming up to me on the street and punching me in the stomach. I woke up to DS bouncing away.
Rants/raves/symptoms: well hello nausea, welcome back, I've missed you! ...said no one. Ever. On the flip side I'm getting nervous about getting everything done before baby comes! My c section is scheduled for 14 weeks and 1 day from today! Ah! Plus potty training! Wish me luck...
Upcoming appointments: Feb 15 for 1 hour glucose test. And I'll prolly fail it lol of course maybe the 6th times the charm! Lol
Questions for the group: anyone else getting antsy for the arrival of their LO already? Ah! I'm excited and nervous to meet him!
GTKY: Any weird pregnancy dreams lately? Not anything more than usual...just all of my dreams are more vivid now. As in I've had ask dh multiple times if something really happened or if it was a dream. I did have a dream I was changing a poopie diaper last night and I woke up and puked all over my bed. Sigh.
Rants/raves/symptoms: Heartburn has been rearing its ugly head, but otherwise I am feeling awesome! I weaned myself off the diclegis/unisom and so far so good...
Upcoming appointments: I have to schedule my glucose tolerance test. I will probably do it Saturday. I have an OB appt 2/8. Everything is looking good!
Questions for the group: This is for moms on their 3rd+ child - when the baby is born, how does sleep work? I know that sounds super dumb, but we have a 2 yr old who is hit or miss at bedtime and sometimes it can take an hour to put him down and then other times I just give up and bring him into bed with me. I plan to have the baby sleep in my room in a co-sleeper bassinet for easy BFing and CS recovery. MH works most nights so it will just be me and the kiddos. GAH! Why didn't I think this through before?!
GTKY: Any weird pregnancy dreams lately? Oh, man, yes! I actually told MH about one and then instantly regretted it. It was a super graphic dream about a three way with Mark Wahlburg and Jennifer Lawrence. Very random! I have been having crazy sex dreams every single night. They can involve people I know, people I don't like, celebrities, random people, male, female, ANYONE! It is driving me crazy. And there is usually a super elaborate backstory to go with it so if I wake myself up to pee or something and then fall back asleep, I am right back in the dream. I thought it was the diclegis/unisom, but I have been off that for almost a week and things are still ridiculous.
Week/ fruit: 26/butternut squash or lettuce apparently
Rants/raves/symptoms: morning sickness seems to have kind of returned and can hit at any time without warning. Definitely haven't missed that! Just general discomfort now with a lot of movements. Heartburn on and off. Gassy a lot. The usual
My mom is coming to town this week, we are finally moving this week and I have my baby showers back to back the next 2 weekends (twin pregnancy so my family wanted to plan pretty early)
Upcoming appointments: today I have to go to the lab for the glucose tolerance test. Then next Tuesday for a regular check up.
Questions for the group: when are you guys having your showers? Mine seems so early
GTKY: Any weird pregnancy dreams lately? Nothing fun or specific. Just always weird and vivid.
@jessiedee13 I was just thinking yesterday that I'm starting to feel ready to meet her. I'm also nervous about the transition to 2 kids, but I'll worry about that when the time comes.
@laurenmdrn16 I had so many sex dreams last pregnancy, this time I've only had 1. Bummer!
Week/ fruit: 24 weeks / cantaloupe
Rants/raves/symptoms: Viability week, yay! I'm feeling pretty good this week. One evening I was hit with sciatic pain, but thankfully that didn't stick too long. Movement had been more powerful this week!
Upcoming appointments: Mid-Feb...check-up & glucose test
GTKY: Any weird pregnancy dreams lately? I had a dream that baby was half baby half seal or something like that. Baby could swim in the water. So odd.
Rants/raves/symptoms: Heartburn hasn't been as bad the past week or so, and I'm sleeping better now - just having really strange dreams.
Upcoming appointments: February 4th for glucose test
Questions for the group: edited because I just thought of a question: For those of you who have registries/are having showers, have you been peeking at your registries to see what has been purchased, or do you want to be surprised at the shower? I have been looking because we have multiple registries, and I have been updating each when the same item has been purchased from a different registry. DH wants to be surprised, so I haven't told him about any of the purchases yet.
GTKY: Any weird pregnancy dreams lately?@laurenmdrn16 I'm glad I'm not the only one having crazy sex dreams! Night before last, I had this crazy, vivid dream that DH and I were having sex and he all of a sudden had 4 penises. It was so bizarre, and I was all like "WTH am I supposed to do with all of these!?" I told DH about it yesterday, and we both had a good laugh about it. Later on, we were getting busy and he goes, "Don't worry. There's only one down there." We both laughed uncontrollably for a good 5 minutes!
@Sunshinebins My EDD is May 23rd. I am having two out-of-state showers, and they are being held somewhat early because of the amount of travel involved. The first is February 21st, and the second is March 20th. I think it's fine to have a shower later if it's going to be local, but it may be better to have it earlier if you are going to have to travel very far for it.
Upcoming appointments: mid-Feb is growth check and glucose test
Questions for the group: Is anybody ridiculously uncomfortable already and wondering how you're going to make it another 12ish weeks?
GTKY: Any weird pregnancy dreams lately? We watched Everest last night, so naturally I dreamed that I was attempting to climb Everest while pregnant... Which is hilarious since I can't even walk up a flight of stairs without getting winded.
@jessiedee13 Yes, I'm getting very ancy!! May can't get here soon enough, even though I'm not even remotely ready for the baby logistically.
Rants/raves/symptoms: Just LOVING feeling baby move.
Upcoming appointments: 2/8 for my regular OB appointment.
Questions for the group: None
GTKY: Any weird pregnancy dreams lately? Yes, but I can't really remember them at the moment. I wish I would remember to write them down because I have had some pretty crazy ones. I did have a dream the other night that he was here and he was beautiful. Blue eyes, brown hair like DH has, a full head of it too. I was trying to get the hang of BFing.
@Sunshinebins My baby shower is April 2. I am due May 23, so I feel like mine is late too. I was kinda hoping it would be in March.
Me: 31
DH: 29, SA - Great
Married: June 12,2011
TTC #1: 1/2014
Diagnosis: Hypothalamic Amenorrhea
Treatment: Clomid: 50mg, 100mg, 150mg - not successful and not monitored
@swflJDfor my first baby and registry I couldn't help but peak! I was looking at my registry ALL THE TIME!
@bluejay3030I remember how miserable the last month of pregnancy as last time and this time I do wonder how in the world I am going to make it to 40 weeks without being a complete waste of space. What's keeping me positive is that I have spring to look forward to before the baby comes. Less dry air, more sunlight and warmth, more walking outside!
Rants/raves/symptoms: Went to a comedy club in Chicago, apparently laughing and coughing led to me peeing my pants. Like onto the fabric seat at the club, pee. Twas awesome!! Crib is ordered and finishing painting this week. No symptoms other than a kicking baby!
Upcoming appointments: sometime in Feb for glucose.
Questions for the group: so I know this is brought up in other threads, but does any of your OB offices send you to a different office to get ultrasounds or blood tests done? I think I'm getting drilled with bills because my OB's office (located in a hospital) sends me down a floor for my A/S and blood testing and insurance is considering it "outpatient" and now I have a $700 bill sitting in front of me.. Just curious how your offices do it and if i need to find a new doctor for the future.
GTKY: Any weird pregnancy dreams lately? None that I can remember recently....
@Sunshinebins my showers I feel are late - I'm due May 10 and have one in mid-March and my second is April 2.... Hopefully baby isn't an early one, haha!
@swflJD I have been peeking! I am horrible about that but I'm curious to see what items are being bought so I can plan to see what we might be spending to pick up the rest. It doesn't hurt to look
@swflJD I peeked so much..basically daily with my first. Im an over planner and wanted time to budget for the more expensive items we didn't get. My shower was late (mid july for mid Aug edd) so waiting just wasn't going go work for me. I had to know!
@laurenmdrn16 ds1 was not a good sleeper when ds2 was born. He started sleep regression just as we brought the baby home and it was rough for a little bit. We moved his crib mattress into our room for awhile and that helped. If he had a particularly rough night, we opted for a "camp out" in the living room. Ds2 slept in the pack n play, I had the couch and ds1 and dh slept on our comforters on the floor. With a nb, it just wasn't worth the stay in your own bed struggle for us. Hoping this will work for ds2 once ds3 is here!
Rants/raves/symptoms: According to my husband, I've been snoring and keeping him awake. Part of me feels bad because he is already a bad sleeper. The other part of me is glad he now knows how frustrating it is to share a bed with a snorer, because he started snoring a couple years ago. Sometimes it is like sleeping with a freight train. And I'm the one who has to move to the couch because it is impossible to wake him up.
Upcoming appointments: Feb 15. I'm wondering if I'm having the glucose test and just don't know it yet.
Questions for the group: For moms who already have 1 or more that goes to daycare, what do you do with the older kid(s) while you are on maternity leave? Keep them at home? Part-time daycare? Full-time daycare?
GTKY: Any weird pregnancy dreams lately? Haha, I usually have the most mundane dreams possible. Like I am at work, just working, or putting away laundry or something. That hasn't changed for either pregnancy.
Rants/raves/symptoms: Weight gain is still tough, but I've still been working out so I'm glad to have the energy. Symptoms - itchy boobs, skin is starting to get blah, heart palpitations.
Upcoming appointments: Thursday for another Echocardiogram
Questions for the group: registeries - is everyone done? childcare - is that locked in? Breastfeeding/baby classes - do you have it scheduled? What should I really be focusing on now. I've read to-do lists, but it is too overwhelming seeing it all in one place.
GTKY: Any weird pregnancy dreams lately? Last night I had a dream that was part Saw/Hunger Games where dead people were fighting each other (Devil was the game master) to try to get a chance to live again, but you didn't realize you were dead, and until you did, no one could talk to you/help you.
Then, there was a giant aliens in the ground coming out and I was trying to get my dogs on a plane so they couldn't track us.
Then, I was in school and didn't study for a quiz so I was freaking out (and failing) and it was 2am. I asked if we were in school this late because of vampires (uhh what?), and they said yes.
My show (New Girl) and book (Living with Kids and Dogs) definitely did not contribute to those unique ones.
Rants/raves/symptoms: A few headaches, a little heartburn, and occasional insomnia...nothing terrible. I'm tired, but I guess that's just the new normal. Second tri isn't so bad.
Upcoming appointments: Nothing until February 8...seems so far away.
Questions for the group: @AliciaD39 I haven't started my registry. Maybe next week. We have childcare locked in and have registered for the breastfeeding/childbirth/baby basics classes. Other than that, I'm pretty much adrift. Still waiting for it all to seem real.
GTKY: Any weird pregnancy dreams lately? I have vivid dreams almost every night, but a few weeks ago, I had a dream that the baby was here and I kept forgetting to feed her. That one freaked me out.
@YouGoGlenCoco31thanks! I think we will lock down childcare this week and I know the classes I want, but maybe I should knock out registering for them too. Our registry is may 70% done.
