No symptoms yet - hard to believe I'm pregnant!

I am 4 weeks and 4 days pregnant (LNMP on Dec. 25th), and as of yet, I have nearly no symptoms. I was so shocked to discover a positive pregnancy test last week when I was supposed to get my period that I took 6 more over the course of two days - all positive! Now I'm a week and a half late for my period (I'm very regular), so I guess add that to the seven positive pregnancy tests and this is really happening! Yay!!!

I know it seems silly to want symptoms, and I might regret this down the line when I'm puking and cranky, but silly or not, I want them. It makes me worry that I'm not actually pregnant. I don't feel any different, other than more tired and thirsty than usual. My whole life I've wondered what it would feel like to be pregnant, but "exactly the same" didn't cross my mind as a possibility! All the pregnancy books and websites discuss how to navigate first trimester symptoms, but they don't mention that there might not be any at all. My first ultrasound isn't until February 22nd - feels like an eternity away. . .

Anyone else symptom-free?

  • 4w4d along is a bit early for symptoms usually. It's typically around 6 weeks that your hormones are changed enough to "feel pregnant". (Obviously, this varies woman to woman and pregnancy to pregnancy.)

I didn't feel different until just after 6 weeks with my first and just before 6 weeks with this one.

  • There is a daily check in thread where people talk about their symptoms, how their feeling etc! I recommend participating there.

Until week 6 you aren't really suppose to feel anything major as your hormones level are still low and you are not even sharing blood with the baby. You have one symptom, the most important one: missed period.
Enjoy those symptoms free days to establish good eating habits while you can!

  • Calm down. You are like two seconds pregnant. Around 6 weeks is typically when symptoms begin, or you may just get lucky and have milder symptoms than you expected. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Now excuse me while I run to the bathroom to dry heave for the fourth time today.

  • 4w6d here and I feel fantastic. I actually took another test yesterday to make sure I was still pregnant haha. Just consider ourselves lucky for now :)
  • 4w and change is still super early for symptoms. Relax, most women don't get very many symptoms until 6+ weeks. You're so early that I wouldn't worry about it. All I had around 4w4d was spotting and peeing a little more often. Give it a couple of weeks (or a few days!).

  • With DD I didn't feel anything until 6wks. So far at 5w2d I can't say I've had any major symptoms. It's more like I can tell they're coming, but not here yet.
