I am looking to purchase some baby books with some gift cards leftover from the holidays.... Beyond the traditional "what to expect..." books, do any of you have recommendations on some good reads??
We were just discussing this. Here's a helpful link. Use the "search" tool at the bottom as there were a couple more threads revolving around this. Enjoy!
I had the Mayo Clinic book I started reading this book but didn't finish it cause LO was born early (hoping to finish it this go around), Pregnancy, Childbirth, and the new born I got this one for my husband because i wanted to do a natural birth and wanted him to be prepared as my Birth partner
If you've been around pregnant ladies before, you'll probably find that the standard "week by week" pregnancy books won't tell you much you don't already know. I got a lot more out of reading books about babies than reading about pregnancy.
Great With Child: Letters to a Young Mother. Was a gift at my baby shower for DS. I loved it. Not a "facts about pregnancy book," but a sweet read. The author is an English professor/writer/mom and the book is a compilation of actual letters she wrote to a friend when the friend was pregnant with her first child.
I also really loved the Birth Partner. It was too crunchy for my husband but he admitted after it really helped him get through our no drug childbirth experience.
