Hi ladies! After my last pregnancy resulted in a second trimester miscarriage, I was diagnosed with an incompetent cervix. This means that I will be having a preventative cerclage put in at 12 weeks. So far I haven't gotten too many details on the type of cerclage I will require or exactly what the remainder of my pregnancy will be like after my surgery. Does anyone have any personal experiences they can share? What kind of cerclage did you get? Did you have to go under general anaesthesia or do an epidural? Were you on bed rest for the remainder of your pregnancy? Did you go into preterm labor? Did you have to have a c-section because of it? I have read some horror stories of women spending up to 20 weeks in the hospital, and I'm hoping for some reassurance. I'm having mine put in on February 23... Thanks for any information you can share!
Re: Anybody have experience with getting a cerclage?
Good news though, my research did find an online group. That seems right up your alley. It's on babycenter and there are over 3000 posts, so hopefully they have some good info.
Just google "Baby Center Incompetence Support Group."
(I'd give you the link but...)
