How much bleeding can be normal ?

Sorry I have to rant ....Today was my heaviest bleed like the start of a period . The other days were like streaks of blood. I'm 7 weeks today. The ultrasound was normal on wed... How can all this bleeding be ok for a pregnancy. No heavy cramping just the norm. When am I suppose to be continuing to call the doctor ?
This sucks
And it happens to be my birthday.... Happy birthday to me : (

I would call. I'm going through a "threatened" m/c now and have minimal bleeding. Have they tested you for RH neg yet? If you're rh neg you need a shot if you're having ANY bleeding. My doc won't give the shot until 20 something weeks unless there is bleeding. Just something to ask about.

I would continue to pick the doctors' brains you work with (you're a nurse, right?). Don't hesitate to ask questions if it will give you peace of mind. I would be panicking too mama... Good luck and try to enjoy your birthday!

Thank you for posting this, I think many of us are going through this. Today is day 5 of spotting for me and this morning was what I would call light bleeding. I'll be calling tomorrow to see if I can at least get an hcg check this week before having to schedule an u/s next week.
ETA: Just talked to SO's sister (P.A.) and will be waiting for the u/s.

I'm having bleeding too, and I've talked to the on call Dr. both yesterday and today, and they both seemed optimistic since I had a normal ultrasound on Thursday where we saw the heartbeat. I am 7 weeks today also. They said I should avoid coming to the e.r. if possible, unless the bleeding becomes really heavy. They will see me in the office tomorrow.

Thanks everyone ! Good news ! The bleeding stopped today just a little brown . Went to see the doctor she did an internal and said she only saw old blood , my cervix is closed and not tender and those are all good signs. Also she did an ultrasound and my baby is perfect and no signs why I'm bleeding. They are going to add progesterone to my normal prenatal labs for tomorrow just to make sure it's normal.
