Old wives tales- needle thread test

Needle hanging from thread, hold it over your hand- see how it swings or twirls.

I did it for the first time last night and it said boy, boy, girl - and then it stopped - so only 3 kids.... But weird because I do have 2 boys already and don't know what #3 will be yet. What is weird is that I did the test twice on myself and it did the same thing each time.

My oldest wanted to know what I was doing and wanted a go for himself- looks like he will give me a grandson and 2 granddaughters. Ha! So weird.. My youngest would only have 2 kids - one of each...

So very curious to see if anyone else tries this - has it been accurate for you???

    My grandfather does this to us all the time. Only, he threads the needle then sticks the needle into the eraser of a pencile. (The pencile test) He swears by it. Surprisingly it's been mostly right... We'll see. We like to have fun with it.

    Haha I just did it, and it said we're having a boy and then it said a girl then switched to a boy. The third time I placed it over my hand, nothing. Coincidentally, my pattern was the same as the video you posted. That was fun! We'll see what happens!

    ETA: I just tried it again and the same result!

    Unexplained with (controlled) hypothyroidism and suspected ovulatory dysfunction (but, I do ovulate on my own)
    Clomid 50 mg 3/15 (unmonitored) - BFN
    Clomid 50 mg + metformin 4/15 (unmonitored) - BFN 
    First RE appt. 5/15; Natural cycle 5/15 monitored with 2 mature follicles and Pregnyl Trigger (full dose) + prometrium - BFN
    6/15 HSG - clear tubes & normal uterus; great PCT test results
    TI - 100 mg Clomid + prometrium (AM & PM) + vaginal estrace (AM & PM) 6-7/15 (monitored) --> no additional response and thinned lining - BFN
    TI - Injectables (follistim + Gonal-F, Ganirelix, & 1/2 dose Pregnyl) + prometrium (AM & PM) 9/15 --> 3-7 mature follicles (3 definites and 4+ that could have matured due to trigger) @ O -->BFN + 5 large cysts
    BC for 2 weeks due to cysts
    TI - Injectables (Gonal-F, Ganirelix & full dose Pregnyl) + prometrium (AM & PM) 10/15 --> 1 mature follicle --> BFN 
    TI - Last attempt at injectables (Gonal-F, Ganirelix & 1/2 dose Pregnyl) + crinone (AM only) + vaginal estrace (AM & PM) 11/15 --> 3-4 mature follicles --> BFP!! 11/27/15 @ 13dpo (shockingly, actually waited until then to test)

    Beta #1 @ 16dpo (11/30/15) = 1,075
    Beta #2 @ 19dpo (12/3/15) = 3,150
    One baby: Saw heartbeat @ 5w5d (114 bpm; baby measuring 2.3mm)

    I always held it over my wrist. I know these things are just fun and I wouldn't base my nursery around the results, but it was right for me. I found out this morning I am having a baby girl. ☺️

    For kicks I just tested my hubby and he had the same results as me!!! It's so freaking weird!!!

    My dad does this. He has done it to each of the kids, then for kicks and giggles did it for the kids' SOs at the time. They mostly did not match.

    Weird thing! My now-husband had the same results as mine - G, B, G, G, B, stop. We were both tested twice! Idk if this many kiddos will really happen, since I am getting into mommyhood a bit "later in the game" (I am 27 going on 28). It was still interesting to see the results.

    I should ask my sisters if theirs were accurate. I don't remember what their needle tests said.
