DH and I are throwing a gender reveal party. Anyone else? What are you doing? There are tons of cute ideas on Pinterest and just curious what other people are planning.
We aren't doing a party, but wanted to do something fun for our parents & siblings. We will be having them over for dinner & revealing with coloured balloons in a box. I'll probably also decorate a little with pink & blue to keep it fun for them...but it won't be anything big.
Fun! Are you guys finding out before the party? We are going to try not to and have the ultra sound tech put the "results" in an envelope to hand off to a baker. It's going to be SO HARD not to find out right then though! lol

We are, yeah. We will know the morning of the reveal (if baby cooperates, of course). I definitely wouldn't have the restraint not to look in an envelope, lol.

We're team green but our good friends are doing a gender reveal tomorrow. They are using the balloons in a box too.
I've seen cute ideas of people guessing what they think it will be, having pink and blue cookies & decorations. I like the idea of it being pretty low key.
We just had one. It was baby blue and pink. I had a sash made to wear around my belly with blue and pink carnations. We had a cake made that was a combination of two baby shower cakes (boy and girl) so they did half and half and it came with blue and pink booties. We had both on the cake and it said "we're here for the sex". After the gender was revealed we took the other booties off. The gender reveal was in a gold star piñata. We had a friend fill it with confetti (both paper and sequin). Then we pulled the string to reveal we were having a boy! We were going to do the black balloon but all of the balloon places were closed on the weekends, which is silly in my opinion. The food was cute a bbq style and casual. We had the guest wear blue or pink beads for the guess and took pics of the teams. While enjoying cake and opening a few gifts (they did that on their own, we weren't expecting any.. It was also my birthday) the guests all gave us their one piece of advice for us since we are first time parents and everyone there were parents. I really enjoyed it. Hope yours turns out great!
I did a really tiny one with my friends. They all showed up wearing blue or pink shirts-- we had dinner and blue and pink cupcakes, then I took off my outer sweater off to reveal my blue shirt underneath. It was fun, and totally unfussy. Mostly an excuse to get together on a Tuesday night
We are only having our parents and siblings over for lunch and cake. My friend is going to make us a cake, so we aren't going to find out until everyone else does. The anatomy scan is Monday, and on Tuesday I'll give my friend the envelope so she can buy the cake stuff for next weekend.
Ours will be mostly family, but me and DH both come from big families so it's never as small as we'd like sometimes. The balloon idea is cute. So many ideas to pick from! Kudos to you guys for the willpower not to find out! That wil make delivery even more special I bet.

We're getting together with my family tomorrow afternoon for our "winter birthday celebration" (there are 18 people just counting siblings and kids so we have to group the birthdays) and I'm bringing dessert - hidden blueberry short cake cup cakes! I made a test today and they're delicious!! I also made this sign and everyone can vote before we have cake.
I just did mine today ! We both have large families so I think there were 24 people which just consisted parents siblings nephew and grandparents . I am a big Broncos fan so everyone wore orange if they thought it was a girl blue for a boy . I had the ultrasound tech put the picture in an envelope and dropped it off at the baker . Then after we had a bbq we cut the cake . It was fun and worked out well . It was orange the one thing that I didn't expect and didn't like was people brought gifts ... I get that everyone was excited but it was weird for me and uncomfortable to open gifts .. My SIL even bought one for a boy and one for a girl so I may suggest that you say no gifts when you invite people
We are doing ours Super Bowl so it's not so awkward. We just invited family to watch the game and we would announce with my DS opening a box of balloons during halftime. I am going to order a cake that has the inside "blue velvet" and I also ordered pins from stay saying team girl or team boy. It should be pretty low key and fun. Nobody in our family has had a gender reveal party yet so I wrote no gifts on the invite.
Not having one, but I threw one last weekend for a friend having twins. We just did a couple fun games and decorated everything purple and green. We had a box for each baby hanging and her and her Husband pulled strings and had baloons fall on them. We also served tacos and made delicious cupcakes.
@likeabel love that sign! Reading through that list, almost everything would be checked off "girl" for me. Lol
I just finished making this for our reveal on Friday:
Are you having a girl? Most of those would be girl for me too, I'll find out next weekend if it's correct.
We didn't do a party since most of our friends and family are 1700 miles away. But when my mom and grandma were in town for my cousins wedding we had them come to the ultrasound with us to find out.
We announced on fb through a cute picture and stuck to our scrabble theme (our pregnancy announcement was done on a scrabble board because my moms side of the family is obsessed).
We had DNA testing and found out the gender while we were on a road trip to NM. So we just called everyone. But for our first we did secret cupcakes and threw a little party because why the heck not?

My thoughts exactly! Just talked to the bakery today about our gender reveal cupcakes!! Now to wait for February 6th to get here. So excited.
Lurking (as usual) If it's a girl, I'm going to buy ALL the pink Valentines Day candy and make little grab bags w/ an assortment of goodies and maybe some small gifts for the grandparents. The bags will have both pink and blue tissue paper that everyone can just take out to see. We wanted to keep it small and not make a huge deal about it. We'll have some family in town for a big family dinner and announce then. We're not going to tell anyone beforehand so no one feels obligated to buy gifts. Still trying to figure out a way to decorate the front of the bag.
I told my work with cupcakes. They knew I had my gender reveal that weekend and said they wanted to be surprised so I brought in these cupcakes with blue icing on the inside
We are doing a small party for family/friends (no gifts since it's our second) just because we want to celebrate this baby and we won't be having a shower. We already know what we're having, but we think it will still be fun to do something with friends. For local people who can come to the party, we're getting a cake. For out of town family/friends, we will be sending them scratch off cards (lots of cute ones on Etsy). We're timing everything around Valentine's day, so we'll send the scratch off cards with a v-day note.
We had a small gender reveal party for my family this weekend! They were in town from the states (I'm in Canada) for an annual celebration we do at the church and I wanted them to experience it with us
We had a Little Twin Stars theme with a little twin stars cake & macarons (we're having identical twins). I made bows and bow ties to "wear your vote", and I had pink and blue cards for them to write their girls' & boys' name suggestions. I made a box shaped like a cloud and had streamers taped on the inside along with little balloons (found a pack of 50 5" balloons at party city). My husband held up the cloud in the air and my son opened up the bottom by pulling on a blue & pink ribbon and everything "rained down" revealing the twins' gender it was an incredible moment!!

@huskypuppy14 I'm having a boy but I will say I fudged most of the girl answers so it was a little more balanced.
