Does your LO sleep in a sleep sack?

My LO sleeps in a sleep sack (arms fully out) similar to https://www.buybuybaby.com/store/product/swaddle-designs-reg-cozy-zzzipme-sack-in-sterling-puppytooth/3247913?skuId=42205814&registryId=542056746

I like it since I'm not able to put blankets in his crib. Just curious if there's a reason to transition out of it into regular PJs, so that he won't only sleep in that thing.  What do your little ones sleep in?

I guess I can always wait for him to grow out of the 6-12 month sack...

Re: Does your LO sleep in a sleep sack?

  • My DD sleeps in a Halo sleep sack with zip up PJs underneath (the nursery can get somewhat cold). I am wondering about letting her grow out of it at 12 months as well. Her current ones still have the Velcro wrap part. I wrap it with her arms out, but she seems to like the snuggness around her chest & waist. I'm not sure how she'll react to the larger size that doesn't have the wrap option. I'm hoping it will be a good transitioning piece to sleeping without the sleep sack.

  • My oldest slept in a sleep sack until she was nearly 2 and we had no issues switching her to a regular blanket, she got a little pillow at that time too and was so excited. They even make sleep sacks with legs if you want, though we never bought that type. I liked her sleeping in one since it kept her from sticking her legs out the crib in her sleep, yet she had no problem standing up in it when she was old enough to do so. My LO is also in a sleep sack with no wings over zipped up pj's and I don't see that changing until she's near 2 as well. Aden and Anais make a nice lightweight one for summer.
  • Zelda sleeps in a sleep sack until she can walk. Then we use real blankets.
  • Thank you ladies!

  • We are using this Woolino sleep sack. It's expensive but I think it's worth it because it is for a large range of sizes, is a merino wool appropriate for all seasons, comes with a thermometer and dressing guide for various room temperatures, and is super soft.
