So sick of water...beverage ideas?

Normally I drink seltzer, brewed iced tea (in summer) and wine.  I don't drink milk, soda or juice.  Wine's obviously out now, too cold for iced tea and seltzer makes me too bloated.  So I've been drinking water.  And honestly, I'm ready for something more interesting.  This isn't a morning sickness issue (anymore, phew) ...just really would like something more interesting to drink with dinner.

Any ideas??  Any mocktail ideas?

  • Hot tea? I still drink iced tea year round. You could fresh fruit like lemon or lime or orange in your water.

If you don't drink juice or carbonated things it's kind of hard to think of mocktails.

  • I like adding a lime or lemon wedge to my water.

  • No mocktail ideas unfortunately but you could try the Raspberry-Green tea Crystal Lite? And I second fresh fruit in water, with maybe some sprigs of mint for added taste.

I should clarify - I'll drink a little of either - seltzer with a bit of cranberry & a lime, etc.  Just not a whole glass of juice, and can't drink bottles of seltzer like usual (I have a seltzer maker).
  • Have you tried crystal lite? I drink poland springs soda water. Its infused with fruit so its like soda but 0 cals. I also like the nestle pure life wild berry splash. Flat water but its like drinking juice

  • La Croix and San Pelligrino are both flavored water (although I think San pelligrino has light carbonation). Those are yummy without as much sugar of a full soda or juice.

  • I like to drink LaCroix or fruit/herb infused water. Check out fruit infused water on Pinterest for lots of ideas; I like that you can create any flavor you want. I love cucumber and lime, strawberry and blackberry, lemon and ginger, or cucumber and mint, among others.
  • It's hard while pregnant due to the need to avoid aspartame. That rules out a lot of my go to drinks (crystal light, peach carbonated water, etc). I do like fresh lime or orange slices in my water. I make a big pitcher sometimes so I can just refill my bottle throughout the day.

  • I'm with you. I'm so sick of water vs. overly sugary drinks. I like the Dry brand sodas a lot (they aren't super sweet), but there are hard to find-- I have to get them at Whole Foods. They have a Lavender one that is amazing. The ginger is also delicious.
  • I've been drinking vitamin water..it's made w stevia the zero one. I got really sick of water lately.
  • I buy True Lemon packets (or it comes in a shaker) and add it to my water, or I just fill up a pitcher with water from the tap, put a few lemon wedges in there, and put it in the fridge.  The True Lemon stuff is just crystallized lemon, it also comes in lime and orange flavors. I used to be able to find it in the grocery store, but now I get it on Amazon.

  • We drink the exact same things. I only drink seltzer, wine and brewed tea and have been having issues with seltzer and indigestion. I started brewing celestial raspberry zinger tea or mixed berry, and stirring in a little honey while it's hot then putting it over ice with a squeeze of lemon.

I should make a pitcher of water and add fresh fruit to it and let it meddle in the fridge for a fresh flavored water too
  • I water down apple juice for a bit of flavor without all the calories, I do the same with lemonade!

  • Great ideas, thank you!  I'm going to slice up some citrus.  Also, I remembered that when I was out in Portland the weekend I found out I was pregnant, one of the wineries had cinnamon water (with cinnamon sticks) in it...that's what I was drinking while everyone else was wine tasting;)  Made a pitcher tonight!
  • Definitely adding fruit to water... Or cucumber and lemon, my fave!

Kombucha is one of my faves and they sell a yummy brand at Target! :)

I second the fruit/veggie infused water. I love cucumber water. I also love strawberry/lemon water. They even sell fruit infused bottles.

  • Fresh grapefruit juice (unsweetened) mixed with a little lemonade or limeade. I like the simply limeade brand. You can add a splash of pelegrino to make it more mock tail without so much fizz that it causes bloat. This is my go to and it's fantastic as a thirst quencher. Very tart.

Cinnamon water?! I've never thought of that but it sounds delicious! I'll have to give it a try! And doh to not being able to drink wine at the winery!

  • I totally just went to amazon to buy some "True Lemon" and am buying a 5pk sampler with black cherry limeade, lemonade, mango orange, peach lemonade and raspberry lemonade! I'm SO excited!!
  • I'm loving watered down cranberry juice with tons of ice this pregnancy. I get the kind that's blended with other juices so it doesn't have any added sugar.
  • I love my infused waters. I put fruit and even veggies in my water. I really like cucumber, mint and ginger water. Coconut water is pretty good too. I drink a carton almost daily. I have so bought real cranberry juice and mix it water and lime, great for utilities s/s too.

  • I have a soda stream and love mixing some soda water with lime juice, cranberry, orange juice, or any combination of them. For an easy mocktail, mix a touch of agave with soda water, lime, and mint leaves for a virgin mojito. When I really want a glass of something special with dinner, I found I like the Fre Brut which is a dealcoholized sparkling wine.
