Anyone try B6 and Magnesium for morning sickness with success?

Hello all,

I'm newly pregnant with my second baby, and curious about what has worked for other moms to curb morning sickness, or eliminate it all together. I haven't reached that stage yet, but am trying to be proactive about it since I had such a terrible time of it last pregnancy. What has worked for you, and has anyone tried magnesium.

TIA

  • My dr had me use unisom and b6 together

  • I take magnesium at night (helps me sleep, keeps my digestive system regular, good for muscle soreness) and B6 during the day as needed.
  • Magnesium oil is the best thing I used. As soon as I feel nausea or a headache, I spray 4-5 times on each arm and rub in. Feel better within minutes. It's also good for other non-pregnancy related ailments too.
  • I have been taking B6 at night and 1 unisom and it has been a life saver. I've also made sure to eat a bowl of cereal in bed every morning, which I found to help a lot!
  • I'm really interested in trying the magnesium this time.  This is my 6th pregnancy (although one ended at 6 weeks with no nausea) and I feel like I've tried everything under the sun for nausea.  The only thing that has helped some is unisom.  I just ordered the bundle from Pink Stork with magnesium oil and cocolaurin.  If it works it will be a miracle.
  • Oh thanks ladies! I'm glad to hear some of you have had a good result with this. I had a nurse friend recommend the unisom too, so I'll be trying that for sure if things get rough. I've been feeling great with the b vitamins and magnesium, and an occasional Epsom salt bath. However I didn't start feeling sick until about week 8 with #1, so I'm crossing my fingers this will help.

Magnesium and unisom didn't do the trick and neither do the extra B6 vitamins, but Sassy Water (1 cucumber, 1 lemon, 3" of ginger root, cut into thin slices, and add 3 pinches of chopped mint leaves - steep in 2 quarts of water in the refrigerator over night, then strain into a new pitcher the next day) seems to work well for me. So does half unsweetened tea half lemonade.

    Edit to add water recipe.

That sounds so good!! Will have to try that sassy water!!
  • @jennnyy it's very refreshing. And it does seem to help with the bloat as well.

  • Wanted to share this item my husband picked up on Amazon. I was skeptical, but this is really working for me. I'll update as I get further into the first trimester, and see if it's still effective. I was feeling pretty nauseated though, and this gave me relief.
