I'm 33+3 and 2 days ago I was sent to er. Because I'm 1 cm dilated. Drs gave a steroid on the 20th an 21st to help mature baby's lungs. An sent me home. Any idea how long I'll stay 1 cm?

There's literally not a single person on this planet who can answer this question. Could be anywhere between now and 9-ish weeks from now.

This.
OP I answered this on your other post. No one knows what is going on so call your doctor.
I stayed at 1cm this time for 3 weeks. Like everyone else said, there's no way to know. Your doctor can't even tell you how long that'll stay that way, or when you'll dilate more. A friend of mine stayed at 5cm for several weeks.
yeah i agree with everyone else. You could be 1cm for a long time. with #2 i was 2 cm at 35 weeks and my doctor told me that i shouldn't have sex and to keep that baby in there as long as i could. I had DS at 39w2d. so anything can happen.
Did they say why they were concerned about you being 1 cm dialated? I've been that way for almost 4 weeks and none of the doctors in my practice have seemed at all concerned about the baby coming too early.
My mom was 2-3 cm for the last 2 months of pregnacy for 2 of my siblings. Both were carried to full term and were perfectly healthy. I'm not sure why they are so concerned about 1cm unless there is more going on than that.
My best friend was not dilated at all at her 39 week check up and she went into labor that night, had baby the next morning. My mom was 4cm dilated for 6 weeks with my brother. There's just no way to tell.

You can stay any cm dilated until active labor. Usually once the process starts then it will continue (in even small increments) unless there are drugs involved to stop any pressure on the cervix/progression. I walked into L&D at 5cm with both kids. So, its not uncommon to have some progression prior to active labor.
At 33 weeks they should keep a watch on you though. More for active labor than for the cervical issue-- the cervical progression can happen early and not mean a thing unless you have contractions to move it along.
Even though I know that this "doesn't mean anything," I still feel like I would walk around feeling really accomplished! Like, "No big deal, I'm halfway there..."

I looked at a dilation chart while she was like this and was telling her that she could totally feel the baby's head if she really wanted to. So weird! She did end up going almost a month early, but she was having a lot of contractions frequently, too.
