Back pain anyone?

I'm on the verge of 32 weeks and lately I have been having some very bad back pain. Specifically it's the very low part of my back and it makes it hard to walk sometimes and doesn't go away when I'm laying down trying to relax. Anyone else have/had this issue during pregnancy?

Re: Back pain anyone?

  • I'm having the same thing, it's just because our sudden weight distribution, lol. Heat pads on low help and if you can get someone to rub it for you, don't be shy!

  • My heating pad has definitely been my friend for low back pain!
  • I definitely get back pain and it sucks!!!
I find a hot water bottle on my back helps. If it gets very bad, check with your doctor!

  • Definitely. A maternity support belt can help. Baths, heating pad, chiropractor, massage can help as well.

  • Ugh I have all the back pain everywhere. I've been in physio since week 10 for hip/SI issues that developed at 26 weeks with my first pregnancy.

Low back pain (like low near your bum) is often from your pelvis widenening. I'm have SPD (basically pelvic distinction) where it's doing the separation in the low back and the front (basically the front of your pelvis). It really sucks. I'm also having mid-back musclar pain referral pain from my pelvis and then lovely shoulder/neck pain from my desk job.

Heat and light stretching along with massage is the only thing that's really helping. Physio for my hip is great my my physio said that the back issues will clear once baby comes.

    Hang in there!
  • Yup. Normal.

    That's my doctor's mantra.
  • Yes! Heat pads, ice packs and massages help.
  • I have the same issues. I am 32 weeks and have lower back pain when I'm sitting and sometimes when im standing.  I am definetly uncomfortable when I am driving. I might have to get a cushion to put behind me so it won't be so uncomfortable.
  • Oh definitely. I have been having what I think is sciatica pain. Mine has been in my lower left side (pretty much butt area) and it radiates down into my leg. Super painful and hard to walk at times. I have found that it happens more when I am up walking around and being super active. Which is unfortunate because I want to be more active, but due to the pain I've had to sit down more. Also aches and pains from sleeping. It's the pits. It's also just temporary (hopefully) so in the mean time definitely do the heating pad, kick your legs up, hot bath, ice pack, rub down and stretching. My SO has been having me lay on my back and he will lift my leg up and the stretching does wonders.
