Help regarding multiple positive opk's....Please!

Hello!  I was wondering if anyone here could help.  I am currently trying to conceive and started using opk's this month.  I am now on day 5 of a positive opk. Did this happen to anyone that was able to successfully get pregnant?  The more I read online I am finding that some articles are saying that my body is gearing up to ovulate but not releasing an egg  or I could have PCOS.  Thank you for your help :)

  • Unfortunately, if you are not tempting, there is no way for any one to know.
    Thank God for Raid.

  • Could be anything.  Are you sure they are "positivie"?  The line has to be darker than the control line to be a positive,
  • Yes they are darker than the control line.

This did happen to me and I was diagnosed with mild PCOS. I would talk to your OB and I would definitely begin temping. Do you have regular periods? If it helps, I am now almost 32 weeks pregnant!

Thanks!  I do have regular periods.  Can I ask, did you have to take fertility medication to conceive or did it happen naturally for you?

    #3 with IUI #3.
    Thank God for Raid.

    QBF

I wasn't having any periods and so I took Metformin. Soon after I reached the dosage that worked for me (2000 mg) I ovulated and had a period. I didn't get a second period, I got a BFP instead!
ETA I also was temping which I know greatly helped my chances!

  • I used opks for a few months and also tracked my CM. The month i started temping was the month i got pregnant.

I started opks last Feb. Had surgery in April for my endo since things werent happening. Got my tubes cleaned out at the same time. Continued opks after. Got a positive in May but lost it soon after. Continued opks and tracking cm. Got a positive in August. 26wks pregnant right now.

I had a good idea of when I ovulated so i made sure we started having sex about a week before and after (every other day). My opks were only posistive for about 2 days max each month and only in the AM.
  • OPKs only tell you when you may potentially ovulate. It does not actually tell you when you ovulated. You can have a positive OPK and not ovulate or you could even ovulate several days later.

If you truly want to know when or if you ovulated, you need to start temping. Try reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility for more information.
  • Have you tried taking a pregnancy test ? A good friend of mine found out she was pregnant after several days of positive OPK's.

Hi! It would still be too early to test.  Did she have the multiple tests while Ovualting or closer to her AF due date?
I did hear some women use it to confirm pregnancy.

  • She thought she had AF so it was about 2 weeks after. AF ended up being her implantation bleeding and not AF.
