Crush on my OB

I am going to start off by saying I am in a happy relationship with my boyfriend of 10 years and we just had a beautiful baby girl 2 weeks ago. I am 23 years old and my OB is in his 40s but I can't help to have a HUGE crush on him. And I am sad I won't be seeing him anymore besides my yearly visits. I don't crush on older men... or any other men in general really, but I just can't help it with this guy. I think it is because I was just able to be so comfortable with him and he was truly a great doctor. Does anyone else have wierd crushes on their ob?

Yes both my husband and I have a "crush" on my OB - she's a 60 year old woman- it's not a sexual thing - she is a symbol of security and calm in the midst of this momentous event of birth. I've cried for the past two weeks about the fact that there are no weekly appointments anymore and my relationship with her is for the most part over as I go back to just annual gyn visits. My guess is that this sentiment is somewhat common.

@ChrissyD1203 I think you explained it so well. It's an attachment to them because of the experience of birth. I felt this way a bit over my OB when I had my son. I wasn't attracted to him, there's a large age gap there, he could be my dad, but, there was definitely a strong bonded feeling there. My OB is so gentle and sweet, and never seems rushed or stressed, and my prenatal care and birth were so great. I love his whole office and definitely miss when I'm not going there so regularly. I hadn't ever thought it might be a common feeling among women.

Not my ob, but his nurses. Those three ladies are awesome and so easy to talk to. I'm going to miss them.

The bond between a mom and her doctors and nurses is beautiful! All my nurses have been so kind and they adore our baby. My daytime nurse is actually the sister of an ex girlfriend of DH. She lives just a mile or so away from us, which is crazy because its 45 minutes away in the mountains. She's been so sweet. I love all these people that work at the hospital

I don't have a crush, but definitely a soft spot for my OB. It's surprising because he has awful bedside manner, but my ex liked him as well when he delivered our baby, so maybe we just have a similar sense of humor.

I don't have a crush on my OB. But it's really common given the relationship you have with them for 9 months of a very important time in your life. I think it's similar to having a crush on a therapist- someone who is helping you through something very personal and is a source of trust. So I don't think it's weird at all!

My OB is a great man, but I wouldn't consider it a crush. An overly personal friendship, maybe? I don't know. I adore the office staff though. Those girls are fantastic and have been laughing right along with me through back to back pregnancies. I seriously feel bummed that I won't be seeing them frequently anymore...

My old OB, the one who delivered my boys, was so attractive! Anytime anyone came with me too appointments they couldn't believe how good looking he was. But I never wanted to do anything with him. After my first kid, who I had a terrible CS with, I was even closer with him. When things went wrong he was so calm and together. My husband said how impressed he was with him as the anesthesiologist was not holding it together. When I had my second he was the only doctor in the office I would see and he promised me it didn't matter if he was on call or not he would be the one to deliver my second child since he was the one who was there for me for the first and the the only one I trusted. When I had to switch offices it was really hard for me. I like my new OB, but It is not the same, maybe it will be after I have the baby.

Not a crush, but I do only feel good things! He is kind of awkward though. It's very rare he actually looks me in the eye. Not interested in putting a face with a crotch maybe? Lol He's great though.

I had a uterine septum removed several years ago. The OB specialist that did my surgery was extremely handsome. Everyone thought so, even the nurses in the OR told me that ever since he was a young intern women had been crushing on him. My GP even told me one woman asked to be re-referee to a different Doctor, because he was too nice looking she was embarrassed to have him looking down below! Lol

Lurking from March '16. This definitely happened to me. My OB always has interns. One day he walked in and introduced his intern and he was seriously the best looking man I had ever seen. It was an internal exam day and my husband was in the room. I could barely even speak. There is no way I could have a regular OB that was that hot.

@nickicb7 thank God mine wasn't with my OB, but a student doctor with my primary could have been Patrick Dempsey's identical twin. I couldn't even form logical sentences when I saw him... then a couple weeks later, I went to the specialist for my back and guess who was there? Yeah... One issue with my back is my rotated tail bone. Patrick Dempsey had to touch my butt and fix my tail bone...
