Our monthly couple's therapy appt is today. I want to cancel, but I won't. Right now I'm sitting in bed, dying to wash the sheets, and SO is still sleeping on them. I don't know why this is pissing me off.

Yay! I had to special order different size phalanges for my Medela pump off amazon bc Medela doesn't make the size I need and they came in last night and I used them for the first time this morning and they are much less uncomfortable and I got twice the output I was getting with the other size phalanges! If you guys are having poor output with pumping check your phalange sizing!

@kwentela How did you determine the correct size, and how did you know the standard size wasn't correct? Did a LC help? The same thing happened to a friend, so I have the pump in my hospital bag so they can check sizing when I'm there.

SO let me sleep most of last night!
Without complaining!!
I just woke up to fix LO's bottle, and went back to sleep.. SO took care of diapers and putting him back to sleep. Thank Jesus... Sadly I'm still tired, so back to sleep LO and I go.. SO should be home soon -- I'll make him watch LO while I sleep.

A LC helped me with sizing and it made a world of difference too.

@mamadcb Im a post-partum nurse but a FTM so .... Ive seen a lot of nipples at work lol. So I had a hunch the standard was going to be too big bc I have quite small nipples so I bought the smallest Medela phalanges and started with those and it was super uncomfortable and pulled a lot of areola into the tunnel. Your nipple should move freely in the tunnel without rubbing but without pulling a lot of areola into the tunnel either. I used Medelas sizing chart but I didn't measure I just went by feel and appearance. Here's the webpage I used for help sizing. Today is my due date. Still no little one. Not even signs that she is on her way. I'm going to my ob in an hour, I hope he has some good news, like Ive started dialating or my cervix is open. I'm also hoping me gives me somethinggg for this rash on my stomach (I'm assuming its this PUPPP I've seen people speak of) that has now spread to my arms and legs.

I'm due tomorrow. Last week I was feeling so ready to have this baby (or maybe I was just ready to be done with work?) But now the closer I get the more unready I feel. Idk if there is such a thing as ready or not but I'm getting nervous at the idea of taking care of a baby that is mine.

LO has been a perfect baby compared to most since coming home from the hospital, but today he just seems completely fed up with everything. Also, for some reason I am in a cranky mood so I keep getting flustered. I applaud all you mommas who have fussy babies regularly. I am going crazy trying to figure out what he wants.

It is terrible! My dr gave me a prescription for a cream. Its just so darn itchy!!!

I also have PUPPS. It sucks. I have found that oatmeal baths help. Aveeno makes one that I've been using.

Good luck! Mine has gotten a bit better (before the cream came along) but then spread to my legs and arms!! I find too ice helps. I just kind of rib it over my stomach when it gets itchy. But I have heard the oatmeal thing helps!! It's just terrible

@hannahduff3 @katyschafer do you know what you're having? It says it happens mainly when having a boy... But I'm having a girl so I'm a little freaked out!!! But I've had a lot if uktrasounds including 3D ans they all can clearly see shes a girl so...

For everyone pumping I highly recommend Pumpin' Pals flanges. They are fantastic, cheap, and available on Amazon. I pumped for a year with my first and these flanges made all the difference for comfort and amount. I got 2x the amount with them vs the straight flanges.

@kwentela Thank you! The description helps. I think the standard may be a little small for me, just from the test run I did when I was trying to get a certain little boy to arrive on his due date

I'll definitely ask at the hospital.

OMG! There is so much crap to do/pack when you deliver 2hours away and have to take a toddler and a dog with you. Dog is going to stay at MIL's house while she isn't there so SO can easily go walk/feed him.

Cluster feeding is a TW, sorry kid but having you permanently attached to my boob for about 4 hours straight this evening is ridiculous. I'm getting dehydrated I can't keep up with that cluster feeding and you turn purple screaming if I try and take a break to pee. I doubt he's even getting anything bc how can my body seriously keep up but he refused a bottle of pumped milk

gonna be a long night I think

Edit: oops this was supposed to go on the TW board but oh well and he Finally took a bottle after 5 hours of getting nothing from the boobs bc he completely ran me dry!

I told him, "the dryer just buzzed, I have to flip the loads". Then he said, "I got it." And he got off the couch before I could and flipped the loads over and restarted the dryer!! WTF?!

He works, does yard and car and dog stuff, but cooking, dishes, picking up, laundry, errands, and kid stuff are my domain. It was basically the equivalent of him saying "I'm going to go mow the yard" and me jumping up and saying, "I got it."

Had plans to go with MiL to a kids boutique to exchange some shower gifts and to a bakery to get a cake that I've been dying to pickup. My belly is on my steering wheel now so I haven't been driving, which is why I was going with her. Both places close at 6pm and are across town (30+ mins to get there). We leave at 430 after lots of delays and get to the boutique only to find their power is out and I can't exchange anything. After waiting a few mins we start to leave and the power comes back on but we don't have enough time to really shop and make it to the cake place, so we take store credit and decide to come back. We leave to go get the cake and my SIL calls and wants to meet us at BBrU way back by our house so my MiL says we can skip the cake and go tomorrow. We drive the 30+ mins back to BBrU only to meet my SIL for about 10 mins before she leaves. So I didn't get new stuff from the boutique or my cake and only saw my SIL for a few minutes. All I got was a sore butt from sitting in the car for over an hour.

end of my whiney story.

Little surprises like this might be the only reason SO is still alive. Makes him worth keeping around

This is more of a 'winning wednesday' but it's only Tuesday so I'll share it here. Today was such a great day! 38+5 and managed to go see star wars (terrible, FYI), make dinner, work out, bake protein brownies and a loaf of fresh bread! I also made a batch of 'labour cookies' a few days ago... They clearly aren't working, but they are tasty, so who cares!

I know I shouldn't be so rigid with a schedule for a newborn, but I set three alarms to wake up at 10:30 to wake baby to eat and slept through them all!! She went just over four hours without eating and even though she didn't wake up, I'm so anxious that she didn't eat earlier. Plus when I checked her diaper (she was wearing cloth) it was only wet in the back plus a small smear, so I'm confused about whether she peed or not. Pee would be wet in the front, but it doesn't make sense for the back to be wet if she didn't really poop. But she never goes over two hours without peeing...ugh I'm just freaking out for nothing probably, but I just want her to be perfectly healthy and I'm don't want to ruin her

Is she sleeping on her back? Pee running down her crack to the back would explain why just the back is wet. I think? It's 4am, so maybe this doesn't make sense.

If she's a newborn, don't worry about the schedule. Sometimes they just need to sleep a little longer and a late feeding isn't a big deal.

you haven't ruined her. She IS perfect and healthy.

LOL for days that the breastfeeding thread was closed due to being "off topic". Pretty sure we were still talking about boobs and the crappy comments people make. Either TB admins can't read, or someone was really butthurt.

Four hours is still a relatively short time to go without feeding. I totally know how you feel though. With my ds, the first time I "slept through" a feeding I jolted out of bed and threw my hand on his chest to make sure he was still breathing--which of course he was. I agree with PP about the pee running down her bootie and being wet in the back, and also, cloth are so much more absorbant I always had a hard time telling if there was pee AND poop. It's easy to get worked up late at night, so try to relax and focus on today's feelings. You're doing great, momma!

I'm having a girl. I'm 39w2d today and still no baby but the PUPPS got a lot better within the last week. I still have some bumps but they aren't itchy anymore and just look like little scabs. Good luck!

Totally. I enjoyed your "nice quiet board" comment on that thread too. J16 used to be more exciting, till the ban hammer came down everywhere and people started treading lightly. So annoying. TB needs to relax.
