Have any of you had experience with a toddler spraining his ankle? we think he may have but we put him to sleep, his ankle does not seem to be swelling or bruised but he says it hurts when pressure is on it... Thoughts?
If there is no visible swelling, it could be fine. There is no way to say for sure over the internet. To be sure you need to see a doctor and do an Xray to make sure there is no fracture
I don't have experience with my kid having a sprain, but I myself have had a lifetime of ankle sprains and it sucks! I'd say just take him to the doctor. Hope he feels better and that it's nothing serious.
Probably a good idea to get it checked out of it's still bothering him tomorrow. I've heard too many stories of 'I can't believe I didn't know it was broken' from friends with kids. My son complained about his ankle for a week and my husband finally took him to urgent care one day. They did an X-ray right there and said it looked okay but sent it off to a pediatric orthopedic dr to review. All was fine with him, but again you really never know and they have growth plates and all that stuff you want a dr to look at. Try not to stress out though, regardless of the outcome it will be fine! Kids are super resilient.
