Maternity Scrub pants question

I am thinking of buying maternity scrubs, but can use some advice from ladies who have bought some In the past. Right now my scrubs are a S or XS, but the waist is getting tight, but legs and butt still fit good. My older M bottoms are way too big right now. My question is, when buying maternity Scrub pants (which I'll probably end up having to buy online, since I live hour from a store that sells scrubs), should I buy Smalls still? Same question with maternity Scrubs in general, I have a Bella band for my regular pants/jeans, but should I buy my same size in maternity pants?

Re: Maternity Scrub pants question

  • I can't edit my post from my phone but I meant "same question on maternity pants in general"

  • Not sure if it works the same for maternity scrubs, but in maternity pants you would buy your normal size (i.e. Small maternity pants if you wear small pants normally).

I do the same as @HBamama2B and order the same size for maternity pants. I can't speak to scrubs.

  • My maternity clothes are the same size I usually wear, but most of them feel roomier because of the different cut/stretchier fabric. Definitely buy your same size.
  • I use the hospital scrubs and so far have just gone up a size in the top (though not for the belly- the chest area was getting inappropriate) and bottoms. Maternity will not be an option, so I think when I get to the point where I want more belly support I will add a belly band, or maybe a maternity tank underneath
  • I wear scrubs and I just went up a size to accommodate growing belly.

  • I've been avoiding maternity scrubs for as long as I can, but my mom got me the Morgan yoga style pant by Koi for Christmas and I love them! They aren't actual maternity pants but they have a soft, wide band that you can pull up or fold down. At 21 weeks I'm still able to fit in them comfortably (they are in my regular non-preggo size too).

I was planning on buying a second pair, here is the link: https://www.allheart.com/m/koi-comfort-womens-morgan-yoga-style-scrub-pant/p/ko713/
  • I had to buy mine online also, and I was concerned about sizing, too. I ended up getting the same size I usually wear but with the new stretchy area on my tummy, they got perfectly.
  • I'm a nurse and was wondering the same thing about maternity scrubs! One morning I spent hours online reading reviews of maternity scrubs and it seems like the general rule is to buy your regular scrub size because the maternity scrubs tend to run bigger. Some women even said that the maternity scrubs were big in the 2nd tri but fit perfect for the 3rd tri.
  • I bought them in the same size and they are fine.

  • I am a nurse, but i work in a prison so I don't have to wear scrubs. I just ordered black dickies style maternity pants for old navy in my non pregnant size and they are great! I am going to order a couple more pairs. I looked into maternity scrubs, but they are so expensive!
  • I ordered some from Cherokee, in a small, I also ordered petite, since reviews said they were long. They are a little big, but the length is perfect and I feel like, hopefully, I will be able to wear them my entire pregnancy. Going a size up didn't work for me, I am swimming in my bigger scrubs, but the maternity ones, again, are great

  • Great question!!  I was wondering the same thing.

  • I used to work at a shop that sols scrubs before I switched to the legal field. They run big, so you should order your current size or even a size smaller. Not bigger, you'll have to return them.
