Late to the party...Nursery decor??

Back story: We moved into our house July 2014, and the entire upstairs was freshly painted and carpeted. DD1 was 11 months at the time and her room was done in neutral colors (yellow walls with navy accents) because we decided it would remain a nursery and DD1 would move out and into a "big girl bed" in our other room when we had a second child.

Fast Forward...DD2 wasn't exactly planned so the spacing is closer than we thought it would be and there's no way we're moving DD1 out of a crib so she's staying put. We just moved DD2 (sorry so confusing) out of a bassinet in our room and into her new room in a pack-and-play, and we haven't done a thing to her room. My husband won't budge on painting the room for her since it's so newly painted, so it's blue, but a very pale pretty blue. We are getting a hand-me-down pale yellow crib. I'd like to decorate her room in pale blues/pale yellows/pale pinks to girl it up a bit, but I'm terrible with decorating and would love some input. I've been all over pinterest and etsy and I just can't find things that are striking to me.

Does anyone have any tips? I feel like DD1's room just came together so nicely and now DD2's will just be thrown together.

And I know this is crazy because I'm sure everyone else's nurseries have been done since the second trimester :

I wouldn't mind the blue. I would play off it and do maybe a mural of a tree with pale pink flowers. Get some pink synthetic flowers in a mason jar on her dresser. Maybe sheets with rose buds on them...think Shabby Chic...a white fuzzy rug.

Edit to say I also saw someone do a hot air balloon mural, it was so cute!

Maybe some vinyl wall decals like pretty pastel butterflies, pale flowery curtains, a pretty ceiling light or accent lamps. The crystal chandelier in the first post is really pretty. The nice thing about pale blue is you can do so much with it and you won't have to repaint if the new baby doesn't like pink when she gets older

My sons room has been painted, and furniture but not a single thing on the walls! LOL I had a hard time finding things I liked. I'm going to really work on it this spring.

He is never in there anyway.

You could even do decals on the wall. We did several with the Winnie the Pooh theme and they came out great!

Like @imsoexcited915 said- decals. I'm not liking our nursery anymore. I suck butt at trying to decorate and our house is pretty empty.
I put doggy decals up for my lo and don't like them anymore. So all I have to do is pull them down- they are reusable- attach/detach easy.
Very envious of all you ladies that are so awesome at decorating!

I do love the new oh joy dots collection at target and it would be very easy to find dot decals for the walls.
