Sneak peek gender test

I've done a whole bunch of research about the sneak peek early gender test. It seems that they have alot of negative reviews. They have recently adjusted their process and instead of smearing blood onto a card, you actually fill a little vial with blood. it seems that the results have been pretty accurate since this change has occurred. Has anyone else done this?   I did it and got results saying it was a boy! I work in the OR and am very familiar with sterile technique so im fairly confident that I didn't contaminate the sample.  I just figured i'd start a thread about it. If it is correct, then it would be good to start having some good reviews posted online. I really hope its correct but hubby and I are taking the results with a grain of salt until we have some ultrasound results to confirm gender!

This is interesting. I had never heard of this before. Based on the information on the website, it sounds like it's using the same science as NIPT tests, but instead of being a medical test to check for genetic abnormalities, it's basically a vanity test only designed to check the sex chromosomes. Assuming the sample is collected correctly and the lab staff is competent, it should be an accurate test.

(ETA: By the way, you mean sex, not gender.)

  • yeah my OB won't do the chromosomal testing unless you're 35+...i'm only 30 so i began searching for alternatives to determine gender early. i'm impatient :)
