3rd Trimester

Does anyone who is preg feel like every other preg woman on earth is having their baby before you?

I know 3 people who were due after me and they already had thier babies I am so freaking jealous!

Haha, I know what you mean. I've noticed a lot of people here don't have a sense of humor about anything pregnancy related. Just try to think of the baby as a fine wine, with time comes perfection! They can enjoy their early babies and you'll have a perfect little one (and maybe a stubborn one if you're that far past your due date!)

If it's any help, a few of my friends said even as miserable as the third tri is, it's SO much easier being pregnant then taking care of the newborn!

  • Well I am jealous of the fact I am still preg, so if my baby were to come today I would be SO happy its not like 7 days early is that horrible.
  • When I was born in 1983 I was only 2 and a half pounds and I am well I'll be even better once I give birth.
  • It's too late I already am
  • You signed up for 40 weeks.

The last few are hell but are very important for baby. Some times it is not about you.

And sometimes means always when it comes to caring for a child!

I'm really struggling to understand your posts. I don't know what is "too late" and what you "already" are.
I do know that a baby who is born weighing 2.5 lbs faces many more challenges than a baby born at a more typical birth weight. What's your point?

At 40 w, yes, I am jealous of my two friends who were due a week after me and are now holding their precious little ones.
This is can get behind. I'm 40w tomorrow (Monday) and I have two friends (one due Wednesday and one due Thursday) and they both had their babies this weekend. I'm officially just gonna start screaming "GET OUT OF ME!" at my belly tomorrow.

But earlier than now? No. Never jealous. I said a lot of prayers for those mommas that struggled with their babies time in the NICU. It's stressful and emotional and nothing I would wish on myself or anyone else.

I'm 40 weeks today and I have begun to feel jealous of the birth announcements...but not in a mean way. We spend so much time praying for these babies to stay put and healthy...Then the last few weeks wishing them out!

Also I may have shouted 'get out of my house' to my boy after a painful kick to a nerve last night!
  • I can understand exactly where OP is coming from. I don't think she is jealous of a premise or wants a premie. I have like 3 friends who also were due around the same time or after me and have had their babies already! I'm at 40+4 days and I am so ready to have my baby that I've stopped reading the birth announcements! It's not their fault and I def don't think my baby will be any better, I just want a healthy baby and delivery like they had!
  • I felt similarly jealous when I was close to my due date and was feeling so uncomfortable and cranky about still being pregnant (didn't help that everyone kept saying I was going to go early). I sort of regret letting myself get so upset over it. I had my daughter at 41+1 and ultimately, she came when she was ready. She was 7lbs 9 oz, and came out healthy and perfect and two weeks earlier, she could have been smaller and less healthy. Your baby will come when it's time, don't rush things!
  • I feel like I've been pregnant my whole life.

That said evidencebasedbirth site has an article on due dates and statistics regarding when women go into labor (spontaneously) and what I gleaned was for FTMs the statistical due date (where 50% of women had labored spontaneously and 50% had not) was 40+5. In multiparous women, the number changes to 40+3. This is my second and I'm 39+5 so I guess I shouldn't stress about it just yet.

 Something like 70% went into labor without induction by 41+2. Hang in there mommas.
