Good morning! I am 11 weeks today and was wondering if anyone has taken the Panorama blood test. We had it done last week and should be receiving results later this week or beginning of next week. My question(s): Does anyone do a gender reveal (just to new parents & immediate family) based strictly on this blood test? We will not have another ultrasound until the 20 week scan... My understanding is that the results are very accurate. Thoughts? Thanks
Personally, gender reveal parties are not my style. If I were to have one I would definitely only trust the genetic test this early. Even anatomy scans can be wrong.
last pregnancy my husband and I found out the sex at 12 weeks and decided to keep it a secret until after our anatomy scan. it was fun to have that little secret between just the two of us for a little bit. once everyone knows, their opinion on names starts:/
@amandazap I also hate when people make a big deal out of it. I'm sorta having one. I want the gender to be a surprise, but I can read later ultrasounds and I want to be able to look at them (I'm high risk and I'll have a lot). So I'm having a friend find out the gender results of my Panorama and getting a cake. The "party" however, will just be myself, my husband, and our immediate family.
My SIL had a huge party and invited over 50 people to her actual ultrasound, then a party following. It was awkward and miserable.
We also did the Panorama test and just got our results back. I don't mind telling y'all since I doubt you know any of our family/friends Our results said we are having a girl, which is what we both wanted. However, we aren't telling anyone aside from our parents until an anatomy scan confirms it. At that point, we'll share the news with close friends, but aren't going to be doing a "big" reveal party or Facebook announcement. I don't hate gender reveals, but they definitely aren't my thing. I think way too big of an emphasis is put on gender.

Wow. Just wow. Do people not realize the anatomy scan is to make sure everything is developing normally - and that sometimes it's not? I know people who have gotten bad news at their a/s. It's a medical procedure, not a spectator sport.
Re: Gender reveal based on Panorama
I used google and here are their stats for accuracy on determining the SEX. Looks they are pretty accurate.

As for gender reveal, I don't understand your question, do it whenever you want to do it?

My own humble opinion of course.
