Bloating or cramping?

Hello ladies!  Got my BFP yesterday and my DH and I are over the moon!    We're due 9/13.   First OBGYN appointment is in 3w.   Question:   Has anyone experienced minor cramping/bloating/fullness at the bottom of the belly/uteral region?  I heard minor cramping was normal but wasn't sure how normal it is.   Its sorta a constant bladder fullness feeling and then I feel it increase more when I stand up.   Sometimes I have a sharp pain on the left side.  If that makes any sense.   Just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same symptoms.   These started on Monday and have been hanging around off and on since then.   Thanks for the input!  Look forward to getting to know you all! :)

Re: Bloating or cramping?

  • I have a ton of cramping and bloating, and I did with my other two babies as well. Cramping is pretty normal as long as it isn't accompanied with red blood.

  • Same here - cramping and bloating like crazy.  I also get sharp pains in my lower abdomen on the left side.  It's very isolated to a specific spot - like I can literally put my finger on it when it happens and it doesn't move around.  I had the same symptom when pregnant with my first so I assume (and hope) it's completely normal!

  • Phew! and thank you for your help and feedback, and @tigerfish227 thanks for the link!
  • I have the same thing on my right. The doctor told me it's probably the side I conceived on and totally normal. I think I will still feel better when I see my little nugget in 3 weeks on the scan !
  • We are due on the same day!  And yes I have been having more cramping this pregnancy than I have with any of the others.  And the bloating is insane this go around as well.

  • My obgyn appt is also in 3 weeks and the wait is pretty tortuous judging I had a loss last year at 6 weeks
  • Ive been cramping a lot - I am 5 weeks 3 days

They come and go if I move to quickly I get a sharp stabbing pain in my left side.

    Terrified this could be ectopic.

I had a previous right sided ectopic August 2015 :(

@danielladxxx I had lots of bloating and cramping last week (hence the reason for the post).   The ladies here and my OBGYN confirmed it's normal.   I had some brief stabbing pains when I'd get up from my desk too, but they've stopped.    Cramping is normal, unless accompanied by bleeding or blood clots.    Try and relax if you can.   I know it's harder with your ectopic history, but it's the best thing you can do for yourself and your baby right now.
  • Oh yeah! I had with the first one, and I am having with this one =)

  • Yes, very much so, especially during the first six weeks. I had to get tab extenders for my work pants so I can sit at my desk comfortably due to the bloat (I haven't gained any weight yet). Soo uncomfortable!
