Trying to Get Pregnant

Charting Question - 18 DPO?

I've been tracking my cycles for a while, been using OPK's for 6 months and charting for 3.  According to both my OPK and Fertility Friend I ovulated early this month...on day 8. If I go by my average cycle length I would start tomorrow, but with my early ovulation I'm now 18 DPO.  My temp is still up and from what I've read in Taking Charge of Your Fertility this is a positive sign, but would my early ovulation impact this?  Since I'm still new to charting I'm just looking for opinions/advice.  Thanks in advance!

You could take a pregnancy test....

ETA: If it is positive, no need to update us. Just move to your BMB.
  • Maybe you ovulated on cycle day 18. Looks like a temp shift there. Did you keep taking opks?
Agree with TheBorg here. CD18 is also a shift. FF usually takes the first possible O date & slaps CH on the chart. Then when you reach omgcrazydaynumber-DPO will pull a fast one on you & either take the CH away or relocate them. I'm betting it relocates them to CD18. Have you taken an HPT? I would at this point because if you are truly 18DPO you'd get a +.HPT by now.
Agree. It might help on future cycles to track cm or cp too.
  • I did continue to use OPKs.  Initially I was starting them on CD11 and not getting a positive, so for the last two months I started using them right away and got a positive earlier than I thought I would (CD 8 and 10).  However, CD 18 would make sense so it's possible that I missed it even using the OPK.  Thanks for the advice!
  • Did you by any chance change your temping method (oral vs. vaginal) mid cycle? I did that once -- not smart, I know! -- and it jacked everything up and made it look like two temp shifts when it really wasn't...

I would try a HPT, if it's negative wait a week and test again. Also, when in doubt, HIO!
  • I agree with the CD18 suggestion. If you take out the positive OPK result, does FF move your CH?
  • Wait... You haven't taken a test?? That would answer your question, right?

@TheBorg7of9 : I may have misread (I need more caffeine) but I didn't see mention of taking an HPT at any point in the OP?

  • Take a HPT, if it's negative its extremely likely you O'd on cd18. I agree with a PP that tracking your CM in the future would be a big help.
