Water intake/ food aversion

I'm finding it a little hard to get the recommended amount of water in a day. The only way I seem to be able to stand it is if it's literally nearly scalding hot plain water. How do you get recommended amount?

Also is anyone else's morning sickness getting worse? Like even the thought of food has me gaging.

  • I find it hard to drink the recommended 80 oz of water per day as well, especially now that I don't exercise as much because of the fatigue. I find adding some flavors (like a slice of lemon or a teabag of Japanese barley tea) helps me drink more water. Using an app to track the water intake helps, too. I don't always hut the goal, but I try to get at least 64 oz a day.

  • The only way I can drink water is crystal light (I know, chemicals are bad but I am diabetic and can't drink sugar drinks). Try eating cucumbers too, and iceberg lettuce. That helps me as well.

  • Yes, if you can't keep water down try eating lots of water-heavy fruits and veggies.
  • Gatorade has been my best friend! I have a really hard time drinking water without it wanting to come right back up.
  • I'm actually the opposite and have been wanting ice cold water. I just fill up the same bottle all day, refilling it each time it's empty. That helps me move through the water pretty quickly. Also, like @jamiesc58, I've been drinking gatorade. It helps with the nausea too, in my opinion. :)

  • water has always been my favorite thing to drink and I can barely get it down this pregnancy.  I don't really like juice or pop either so that really limits my options.  I try to drink a cup of tea in the morning and drink as much as possible when my body, eerr all day sickness, allows
