Any recommendations on pregnancy pillows? Or did you just use regular pillows? We have a queen bed so I don't have a ton of space but I want to be as comfortable as possible.
A friend told me she preferred a regular body pillow vs. the Snoogle as the Snoogle was sometimes uncomfortable by her neck and head. Since I own a body pillow that I hadn't used in a few years, I pulled it out and I'm using that for now. If and when I become more uncomfortable and it doesn't seem to be working, then I'll be purchasing the Snoogle.
When I signed up for the maternity program with Aetna they sent me a wedge pillow. When I was pregnant with my son I slept sort of on my side/stomach. I kept a pillow under the belly and behind my back. Another under the boobs and one more between my knees. Occasionally one was under my feet.
I also had 2 large dogs who slept on top of me so I would get overheated at night so blankets would be tucked around me but never really on me.
@Jenniferk08 That seems like quite the snuggle nest! My coworker is just using regular pillows too, I wasn't sure if that got to be too many things to juggle during the night?
With my two pervious pregnancies, I used a regular body pillow and was compleatly comfortable.. once in a while I need a pullow behind my back for extra support.
Do you all find you already need extra pillow support? I still feel it's a bit early for that so was curious. I guess I thought I'd wait until I'm bigger and uncomfortable. Are you already uncomfortable sleeping?
@ThursdayMorning I'm not a back sleeper. More of a side/stomach sleeper. Since I'm more of a straight side sleeper now and stomach will be less and less of an option, I think having some extra support would be nice especially for my hips/legs. I can definitely see wanting to have something bought within the next month. I have always slept really well and easily so I don't want to wait until my sleep is suffering to figure out what to buy.
I'm sorry in advance if this is a dumb question, but are those of you who just used body pillows using those to prevent you from sleeping on your back or just for support between your legs and under the stomach? I'm picturing it as difficult for both but if that's possible, please let me know.
I have the same concern as OP re: queen size bed. I'm sure I'll need the extra support down the road between the legs and under the belly, but my big concern now is rotating and sleeping on my back once I'm in the second trimester and that becomes a real issue.

I had one in my last pregnancy and found it super uncomfortable. I just put a pillow between my legs and that worked better for me. I hated the curve of a pregnancy pillow and would probably choose a body pillow if I feel a regular pillow isn't working.
@riveridgional I think it's more for comfort than preventing you from sleeping on your back. I'm mostly a side sleeper anyway but once in a while I sleep on my back. When I was pregnant, once back-sleeping was no longer ok, I could totally feel it. I would get short of breath really quickly so you will probably change sleeping positions more naturally than you would think.
I think I paid $12 for a big fuzzy body pillow at Costco. I hug it and have it between the knees. my oldest has already said he wants ownership of the pillow once my preg is over.

I hug the body pillow and have it between my knees. I was using a king-sized pillow between my legs off and on for a few months recently and didn't like that it always came out. Now that I use the body pillow, I notice it stays the whole night, unless I turn. Eventually, I'll begin using a regular pillow behind me to prevent rolling onto my back.
My situation was unique but even before it got bad I hated the snoogle. It was a waste of money and I'll invest in two good firm body pillows next time. Picture this: a nest. I had a snoogle around 3 quarters of my side of the bed. Four or five more pillows crossways in the middle to keep my swollen legs elevated, and extra pillows behind my back to help me sleep elevated and a long king sized pillow where the snoogle didn't quite reach around. In addition I needed wrist braces on both arms because of pregnancy induced bilateral tendinitis in my thumbs/wrists (please don't suffer with this if it happens to you - they can give you a steroid shot to reduce the swelling) and tried to elevate them as well on extra pillows on the side. When I got out of bed in the morning I would just pull the covers up over the pillows and center would sink in a little. It literally looked like I was sleeping in a nest. I dreaded completely re making the bed and changing the sheets... :-/
