How is everyone feeling about their elective repeat C? Has your dr told you anything you didn't know the first time around? Are you doing anything to prepare? My biggest worry is recovery and having a -2 y/o at home.
I will be having my 3rd c section.. I didn't make it to our electived c section date with my second.. I felt a little more prepared of what to expect the second time.. It would have been a little nicer to not have been in labor again when getting the epidural but oh well.. Recover was better the second time and faster my son was almost 3 at the time I had my second and he did ok.. Probably watched to much tv but he did fine
I am seeing my doctor tomorrow to discuss c-section plans! I've been seeing my midwife this whole pregnancy, but decided that I should see the doctor that will be performing the c-section. I am curious to hear what all she has to say about it since last time was unplanned. I will let you know tomorrow what she says!
As for doing anything to prepare: making sure I've got help with my 2 y/o (husband took off an entire month!). Making sure all baby necessities are labeled and accessible to anyone who may be around helping out.
I've been told that recovery is alot easier the 2nd time around, especially if the first was emergency. Simply because this time you know what to expect! So I guess I'm mentally preparing myself to have a better, faster recovery.
I had to have an emergency c-section 6 years ago. This time I have to have a scheduled one. I'm feeling very confident about it all my doctor has been very good about answering my questions and preparing me. He also said since my last one left me with a 9 inches scar he said this time it will only be about 4 inches. I am planning on using a walker to help get in and out of bed and to the toilet and back. Last time I needed my husbands help I'm hoping to be more independent this time. Also to help prepare I'm buying big ole granny panties. Nothing that will rest anywhere near the new incision. Last time I wore my H boxer briefs for three weeks until my underwear fit comfortably.
I will be having my third CS because i've gotten preclampsia both previous pregnancies. For some reason it always comes back after 34 weeks so we'll see. Don't have a date yet which i'm really upset about because I have not seen the doc in almost a month now but anyways I feel fine with doing it again because I know its what is best for my LO to get here safely. The first time I felt jipped of the experience of birth but realized it doesn't make me any less of a mother. My body just can't handle labor so it is what it is
That's reassuring to hear that this time may be easier. My first C was an emergency as well so that was tough having such terrible contractions right up until the C. I'm just hoping I don't get anxious waiting around this time... Or go into labor again. Ugh My son was also 10 days early and my doc scheduled my C for 39 weeks so hopefully that all works out! How early was, or will, yours be scheduled? Ps good idea using a walker! Good luck, ladies!
RCS scheduled for 7 weeks from today. I'm trying to get delivery as stress-free as possible since my first was emergency. I think it's called a gentle c-section and doctor seems to be on board as long as everything is okay. I would love to even nurse on the table while they are closing me up. I found this video and will be showing my doctor to see if something like this is feasible. https://wellnessmama.com/25468/gentle-cesarean/ Mine is scheduled for two days before my due date. Cutting it close but I did go over with DD and it's the best day for DH's work obligations!

I recovered super fast from my first c-section. I actually was so happy with how it went that I requested one the second time, despite my doctor saying I could try natural again. I spent 20 hrs in labor to end up having an emergency c-section the first time, I don't feel the need to try it again. My doctor seems to think I should recover just as well this time.
Mine isn't elective but it is a repeat scheduled c. I have heard recovery is much easier than an emergency c (makes sense, your body is rested). Also the procedure is just smoother and easier. Mine is less than two weeks away so I'm starting to get a little nervous... but mostly I'm feeling confident and ready to meet this baby!
