I am typing from the labor and delivery unit at our hospital. I'm severely dehydrated and hooked up to an iv. I started having excruciating pains all through my ribs under my chest and in my back. I texted my Ob and she said to go straight to L&D. I am doing good though! Waiting for labs on my liver. I am mostly concerned because I know that our chance of miscarriage is very high carrying a baby with Down's, but we are both hooked up to the monitor and she is wiggling away like crazy.

@HBamama2B I thought I was doing good! I ate 2 Popsicles, almost half a bottle of Gatorade, and a few bites of chicken noodle soup. I guess that wasn't enough. I'm on my second bag of fluids now and can tell a difference in my energy.

Oh gosh, how scary. I'm glad you are doing better. 2 liters is a lot of fluid. How long were you there? If you start having ANY shortness of breath or coughing, go right back. Your body takes time to absorb the fluids and if they pushed them in too quickly it can settle in your lungs. Not trying to scare you just make you aware in case it comes up. I'm so glad you are feeling better and everything is ok!

In my first pregnancy we had threatened preterm labour at 29 weeks due to severe dehydration. Sounds similar to what you went through. I was hooked up to monitors and given a bunch of iv fluid. All settled down. I was much more deligent about my water intake after that and we delivered a healthy little girl at 40+2.
