Sigh....cosleepers / transition / sad

I put my exclusive co-sleeping baby in his crib tonight . He's been napping so good in there the last two days id thought I'd give it a try . I know my husband and I need our time together at night and my sweet baby needs his own place to sleep but I'm just so sad over it ... I want him here next to me .. How are you co sleeping momma's coping with the seperation ( those of you that have already transitioned). How did you find peace of mind ?

Re: Sigh....cosleepers / transition / sad

  • I'm just starting to get myself ready emotionally to transition, but we haven't started yet. He's still feeding a lot at night but I'm planning to start him in his crib for the first part of the night to start out and ease myself into it. I love having him in bed with me

  • I keep saying 'tomorrow we will start him over night in his crib'. I just can't bring myself to do it. I don't feel ready. I just love his baby snuggles.
  • I feel the very same way. At this rate, I'll never transition. Lol
  • Still hasn't happened ! Lol I just can't .. I will try again in a few months - maybe I will be ready then . For now I'm doing what feels right ...
  • I start him in the crib every night and when he wakes up after 2-4 hours I bring him back in bed with us. Suuuper slow transition.
  • We didn't co-sleep, but had baby in the pack n play next to our bed. We just moved him into his own room and crib last week at 19 weeks. It was tough! But he did awesome his first night and ended up sleeping 11 hours straight!

We now have the baby video monitor on next to us and we're in the room right next to the nursery so that makes it easier. He's also been waking up at 2:30 to eat, and we have the Snuza breathing monitor on him which also makes me feel better about it.

It was tough, but I have to admit it's nice not to have to roll over in slow motion so I don't make any noise (he's really sensitive to noise, even with the white noise machine on). I'm glad we made the switch now, even though it was tough (for me!) the first few nights. :)
  • Here we are 3 years later... Good luck to you!
