Ok so there was a small thread on this already.... And I know it's totally normal. But I'm wondering how long it will last at this point! I'm almost 3 weeks post partum and still waking up soaked everywhere everytime I wake up. Wth! Never had this with my other two babies! Is this from csection stuff like iv fluids etc? Or just my hormones? It's so annoying and I'm wondering when it's going to stop!!!!!!! Anyone else still sweating??

Re: Night sweats

  • I was literally just reading about this, I am just over 2 weeks pp, and had massive night sweats when I was having a nap. It is hormonal and has to do with increased fluids needing to leave the body still after pregnancy. I hope it ends soon!

  • I'm 4 weeks pp now and it has finally stopped. I was soaked every night!
  • DD was 7 weeks yesterday and I'm finally not sweating each night. It was horrible!
  • DD is 5w & I'm still waking up soaked. Hopefully this ends soon, because between the sweating & milk leaking everywhere I'm literally never clean feeling for more than 10 minutes.
  • Almost 4 weeks and I wake up damp but not drenched like I was the the first couple weeks. I wake up cold now but not shivering uncontrollably like I was when I was drenched and freezing.

OMG yes with the leaking, I sleep with a cloth 5 layer diaper folded in half (the ones everyone uses for burp clothes) in my sleep bra and I was soaking through that at night.
  • Oh man, I didn't know that sweating at night was a PP thing. I thought it was because we would normally sleep with a fan on but haven't since our son was born so that we can hear him cry... breath. Interesting. I am 5 weeks PP and this still happens most nights.

Yes! I put a waterproof mattress pad on our bed & pump after every night feeding to try to keep myself from leaking through the pads & bra. Even if I just pump for 10 minutes after she eats it usually works & I just have to change the breast pads when I wake up.
  • @JackJacktheCat my DH has always been a human heater so we always have had a great waterproof mattress protector, thankfully!

Me, too. I always sleep with the fan on, but I go to sleep cold and use two fleece blankets, and in the MOTN I've been sweating, but I'm still not hot. I thought it was from me getting hot and not realizing it. Maybe I'm still doing PP night sweats, too. I'm about 3.5 weeks PP.

  • My night sweats slowly tapered off and finished around 6 weeks or so. It was atrocious up to that point.
  • I'm 4 weeks pp and I don't sweat all over, it's now just relegated to between and under my boobs.
  • The boob sweat is out of control :grimace:
