Trying to Get Pregnant

Problems with LP

I am really confused as to what is going on. My LP is shifting from 11-16 days in the past six cycles. Only third cycle TTC, 6th month really tracking. Don't know if I'm missing something, or is everyone like this? lol I am gettting upset because I had spotting today, and I'm only 10 DPO, I know...stupid, right? But seriously, I know that TTC is a stressful process, but I've gotten some great tips from the ladies on the board, and they work in terms of helping with relaxing! But now, I'm stressed out because I don't know what to think. My last two cycles I've had a 11 and 13 respectively, now I'm sitting at 9, and spotting? What the heck is going on?! My OB said that she would do a progesterone withdraw this month if no results because I ovulated 11 days late, which already had me wiggin' out. So now I'm even worse off thinking I could have a LP problem too. I have cystic fibrosis by the way, and TTC with CF is like hitting a brick cervical mucous wall, literally. Using Preseed, and hoping that it's helping!

Thanks ladies!

Are you temping to confirm ovulation? If so, can you share your charts?

This is my first month using FF, so Yes, I will share my chart for this cycle, if I can figure out how lol I used a different tracking app before and I didn't want to convert all my data.

How were you tracking your cycles before FF?

  • I use Kindara in link with FF for the community now, and I used Kindara before that.

Where you taking your temp to track your cycles?  I have seen lots of ladies on here switch from "other app" to FF and FF interprets their O date much differently.  I would consider inputting your previous cycles to FF and see if they have a different O date.  It might show a more consistent LP.

ETA:  Also, you have several open circles around O time.  It's possible that your temp was off and you could have O'd earlier (since those open circle temps wouldn't be reliable.  Is it possible this happens several times a cycle and maybe that's why it looks like your LP is changing?

I would recommend adding CP or consistent OPK use to help pinpoint.

^^^ This! It might be a pain in the butt, but I definitely recommend inputting as much data from previous cycles as you can. The more cycles and more information you input into FF the better it gets at predicting and reading FW and LP

  • All right. I will do that when I get home from work, but now I'm staring at this chart, and I'm so much more annoyed than I should be lol I took my temp early on the 26th, and my O date should have been Christmas day, but we traveled that weekend. So I woke up early, so my temp may be lower than it should be? I'm just about done with this cycle lol Just done.
  • Thank you so much bsckgb7!!! I'm just so stressed out, probably over nothing lol
  • @CFTatGirl Make sure to use the "mass data entry" feature on FF, which should make it a little less of a pain.

I will find it lol I am determined now, I need to understand my cycle. I am to OCD not to.
  • First, I admire your sex frequency & stamina! Get it, guuuuurl.

Second, I would chart with FF for at least 6 cycles before worrying about an LP issues.

Do you temp orally or vaginally?

Re: CM : how is your water intake? Do you allow plenty of time for "warm up"? Because CM should thin a little bit just with average lubrication.

I don't advocate medicine use off label that often, but if you have CM that is "impassible" you might consider mucinex to thin your existing CM. Ask your doctor though, because CF and mucus seem to go hand n' hand?

If you aren't drinking enough water you could have CM trouble. Certain meds can also cause hydration issues. Preseed is great for lube but if you have thick mucus that inhibits sperm movement it won't necessarily be enough.

  • My CM is literally creamy and thick my entire cycle. There really isn't any variation without Mucinex, I took it during my supposed fertile window Christmas Week, and then from my chart, I didn't end up O'ing.

I drink a lot of water, 90 ounces plus a day, which really does help I've noticed, but it isn't enough. Cystic Fibrosis and TTC is all about getting the CM thin enough to even allow for sperm to enter the cervix. And thank you for the relaxation encouragement lol I really don't need an LP problem on top of the other
  • Is your spotting consistent during your LP? My FF detail analyzer also indicated that my LP varies more than what is considered "average". The forums on FF & an email to my CNM postulated that I might be better served temping vaginally.

Do you temp orally or vaginally? The disparity in LP (is it getting longer or shorter) can be data variation or in accuracy?

  • I temp orally, I suppose temping vaginally is an option lol I will try it this next month. Also, I'd like to point out that if I adjust my temp for the 26th of Dec it changes my O to Christmas Day

I get suspect of tooling around with temps though. At this point wait it out & see if you get a +BFP.
