August 2016 Moms

Every day around 4pm

It's like clockwork. Every day around 4pm I start feeling icky ( I'm 8.5 weeks). It's just shy of full on nausea; I haven't thrown up yet. But boy do I feel bad from 4-bedtime. I guess it's raging hormones. This didn't happen during my pregnancy last year (where we lost the baby at 21 weeks), so I'm hopeful this is a good sign. Fingers crossed!

Re: Every day around 4pm

  • Have you tried to eat a small snack around 3?

  • I've had the same problem this pregnancy (8w, 3d). I don't remember my nausea being this bad last time around. From mid-afternoon until I finally fall asleep, I feel incredibly sick, borderline thinking I'm going to throw up and it's so hard to eat anything. Fingers crossed things get easier in a couple of weeks!

  • I'm having the same exact issues. I wake up quite early 3:30 am so I figured it was just a combination of being tired and hormones. Can you nap for a bit- that usually helps me feel better before DH gets home.
  • Same here. Except my nausea starts around 2 and persists until I go to bed. With ds, I lost  A LOT of weight due to not eating at night, so that was an upside lol

  • Same situation here, but mine hits around 1pm. I eat pretty consistently throughout the day to try and keep it under control, but these last few days have been rough!

  • Same for me, but starting about 6. And I have thrown up so - so much. My doctor said it's likely a combination of needing to eat / drink more during the day when I am feeling fine, and take it easy once I get home. She said sometimes your body works to shut you down if you are pushing too hard.

On the upside the doctor didn't seem concerned, as long as I was holding down food / drink for MOST of the day, and just told me to make sure I ate plenty when I could.

I have found if I take a nap from 6pm until 7 or 8pm, I feel fine when I wake up until I got to bed at 10. That's how I have managed to feel better the last week or so.

  • Sounds just like me! I'm struggling with constipation and I'm starting to think my nausea is correlated with that.
  • I am taking Diclegis (two at night), and by about that time, I get more nauseous than the earlier day most likely because the med is going away (since it's a time release med). I notice that as long as I am doing something with my mouth, eating, drinking or sucking on candies (Preggie Pop Drops are AWESOME) then I am not nauseous. But if I go a while without anything then I start gagging randomly.

I'm exhausted and ready for a nap around 4pm
  • Never threw up, but had nausea in the afternoons/evenings, like you, off and on starting at week 6. Week 9 was pretty bad (I've read it is usually the peak of MS). I'm at week 11 now and have hardly had any nausea. Fingers crossed it is the same for you! Power through week 9 and it will hopefully get better.
