Re: **Friday Ticker Change 1/15/2016***

  • Week/Fruit: 23/grapefruit

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: So far nothing horrible. I'm starting to have more trouble sleeping- not even because of the need to pee. I just wake up. I think she's kicking me hard enough to wake me up now. Though, last night I woke up with a leg cramp and just about burst into tears. I hate leg cramps.

Upcoming appointments: Not until the 28th

Questions for the Group: none :-)

GTKY: What baby gear/item are you most looking forward to purchasing/receiving? Honestly, we've gotten the stuff I'm most excited about, the crib and the dresser. I guess now it's car seats and the travel system since those are the most expensive. Oh and the clothes. I'm looking forward to getting baby girl outfits. We got a whole bunch of hand me downs but most of them are 6 month +
  • Week/Fruit: 24 weeks/Cantaloupe

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: I'm super bitchy, irritable, and can cry instantly. I know this is to be expected, but I'm not enjoying it at all.

Upcoming appointments: Next Thursday, 21st, I see my regular baby doctor and then on 2/5 I go back for another level 2 U/S with the perinatologist

Questions for the Group: My boobs haven't hurt, been sore, or anything this whole entire pregnancy...is that normal? They're occasionally itchy, but that's been it.

GTKY: What baby gear/item are you most looking forward to purchasing/receiving?
We received the bedding in the mail on Wednesday and it's even better looking in person. DH is putting the first coat of paint on in the nursery tonight and will finish up tomorrow. Then on Sunday we're going to pick up the furniture my Mom purchased...it's a big weekend for the nursery!

  • @amovin21 Mine only hurt when I'm cold, and are only sometimes itchy. My doctor doesn't seem concerned so I'm guessing it's normal. I will admit I wonder if it's a sign of what my  ability to breastfeed is going to be. I had a chest reduction so that's constantly on my mind though.
  • @bookelf221 it makes me wonder about my ability to breastfeed too, but I keep telling myself that I'm just being silly (so does DH)

  • Week/Fruit- 21/Pomegranate

    Rants/Raves/Symptoms-These headaches and migraines arrrggg!!!

Upcoming appointments-February 8th. Second U/S to get better pictures of her heart with reg ob apt.

    Questions to group-None

What baby gear/item are you most looking forward to or purchasing or receiving? Is it weird if I say I'm not reallly "excited" about buying or receiving anything but clothes? I have zero interest in reading up on baby items. But I will still love my girl to pieces.
  • Week/Fruit: 21/pomegranate

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Boobs. Are. So. Itchy. I've also been getting nauseous if I don't channel my inner hobbit and eat a second breakfast.

    Upcoming appointments: not until February

Questions for the Group: Is anyone using essential oils to deal with anxiety/stress/pregnancy related things in general?

GTKY: What baby gear/item are you most looking forward to purchasing/receiving? My sister is giving us all of her baby girl hand me downs. She told me to get a Uhaul. I'm psyched.

  • Week/Fruit: 22-papaya..this little one is measuring long so I doubting this is true.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: No rants, rave is still just feeling her move..its always my favorite. The bleeding gums have arrived, and it sucks. Other than that I'm doing pretty well!

Upcoming appointments: 1/20: We have to go to a Maternal Fetal Specialist to have an ultrasound done. 1/25 for OB return visit and the 1hr glucose test.

    Questions for the Group:
Has anyone ever had to go to a maternal fetal specialist? What should I expect? We have to go because it appeared that one of LO's kidneys might have been slightly dialated. Dr. said not to worry, it's a precaution so I'm really banking on that to keep my nerves down. I've looked into both sides of the family and neither side has kidney issues.

GTKY: What baby gear/item are you most looking forward to purchasing/receiving?

I have failed in this department and haven't bought anything yet. I really need to get moving, so I guess I'll say everything! haha

@amovin21 My hubby tells me not to worry about it all the time but that never helps. In fact a lot of times it just makes it worse because I just feel like shouting at him that he doesn't understand. But that's also me being super sensitive to stuff at the moment.
  • Week/Fruit: 25/ Cauliflower

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Feeling so much movement, I love it! I am starting to get a lot of back pain and other random aches and pains, plus more RLP & BH. My sleep is terrible, I wake up constantly. I'm working really hard to keep my weight gain down and to maintain a positive attitude about it. It is much easier to eat healthy than it is not to beat myself up about having gained nearly 30 lbs already. In general though, I am very happy and content!

Upcoming appointments: 1/28 for the Glucose test

    Questions for the Group: None!

GTKY: What baby gear/item are you most looking forward to purchasing/receiving?

ALL OF IT! I was most excited to get our stroller and it was really fun to test them all out with my H. I have also enjoyed getting clothes but need to reign that in. I guess the one thing I am most excited for now is the bassinet!
  • Week/Fruit: 23/grapefruit

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: No new symptoms really. Now that I feel movement quite a bit, I start to get freaked out when I don't feel it for a while (or don't think I feel it when the day has been super busy).

Upcoming appointments: Not until Feb 5 for reg appt and glucose test

Questions for the Group: None really :)

GTKY: What baby gear/item are you most looking forward to purchasing/receiving?

Since this is our #2, we don't have to get any of the more exciting baby gear like strollers, car seats, etc. Though since this one is a boy, I am looking forward to the clothes and receiving blankets, etc (so dumb!) I'll be happy when we actually get our butts in gear and find time to clean out and repaint the nursery. We were so dumb to paint it bubblegum pink for our daughter, I guess we never conceptualized that we could actually have a BOY next time. (facepalm)

  • Week/Fruit: 23/grapefruit

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: I am enjoying the baby belly and all the movement with two little kickers. My carpal tunnel is bad this pregnancy and that is not fun at night. My right hand/arm is the worst, even with wrist guards. I can't lay on my right side because my whole arm falls asleep w/in minutes. I had minor carpal tunnel w/my first two pregnancies so I know it will most likely disappear after delivery. So weird!

Upcoming appointments: I just had my monthly sonogram for growth check and both boys look fantastic!

Questions for the Group: Will any of you be buying a video baby monitor? I would like to this time. I can't decide which to buy. They're so expensive so I'm looking at the cheaper ones but I'm hoping they work decent. The nursery is far from our bedroom and with two babies it might be nice to first see which one is up. Also I might want to use it to spy on my older kids. lol.

GTKY: What baby gear/item are you most looking forward to purchasing/receiving? Probably the mini crib (2nd crib), double umbrella stroller, or changing table/dresser. I have gotten SO MANY hand-me-downs which I'm also super excited about. With twins and being 36 (almost 37) a lot of my friends or moms at the elementary school are done having kids and the hand-me-downs have been flooding in. I have received all sorts of bouncy seats, swings, double jogging stroller, snap n'go frame stroller, and I bought two matching infant car seats from my friend with triplets.

@folamij - I got to a maternal fetal specialists office for my sonograms since I'm having twins and it's really just the same as a regular Dr's office. My location happens to be in the hospital and it's brand new so it feels more spacious, serious, and hospital-ish, but they sonographers are great. I hope everythings ok with your baby's kidneys! It's amazing what they can see early on (which helps to prepare).

  • @2.red.heads - We're in the market for a baby monitor too! I'm trying to resist the urge to get one of the expensive ones because it's just not necessary. The one we have now that we still use for my DD is about 11 years old as a hand me down from when my sister had her first. It's a large (comparative to what's out there today) tube tv type monitor screen and it's only in black and white and super grainy. But it worked! It's really about to kick the bucket though, and probably won't last another 2+ years.

  • This is my first time posting for the ticker change! TBH I usually forget that Friday is my day and then by the time I remember it seems silly to post on Sat or Sun  :D

    Week/Fruit:  24/Cantaloupe

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Definitely feeling the aches and pains more now. By the end of the day my lower back is hurting, and I'm finding it harder to eat a full meal, if I do, my sides hurt so bad and feel like they are stretching.

Upcoming appointments: Just had one on Monday. My next will be Monday Feb 8th, it will be a regular appt, Glucose test and U/S. and then after that appointments will move to every 2 weeks!

    Questions for the Group: None

GTKY: What baby gear/item are you most looking forward to purchasing/receiving? I have been stalking the Target baby clearance and got some SUPER deals so far, but I am really excited to order the crib/dresser!! We finally got DS and DD all switched around room wise, so now that nursery is empty-ish I have really been moving along on that front. I *think the paint color has been decided too.
  • Week/Fruit:  22/Papaya

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: I've been more emotional than usual. I haven't been sleeping as well the last few nights and am feeling really tired today.

Upcoming appointments:  Not until the first week of Feb.
    Questions for the Group: None

GTKY: What baby gear/item are you most looking forward to purchasing/receiving? I am really looking forward to
ordering the crib! We've had a lot of fun looking at all the baby options. A lot has changed in ten years. We were recently given so many hand me down clothes I can't imagine *needing* any new clothes. Our friends have been so generous.

    Lilypie Pregnancy tickers

  • @lionstigersbears I use essential oils for EVERYTHING typically, but since being pregnant I've stopped for the most part due to lack of research on the effects during pregnancy. I have, a few times, used immune support oils highly diluted rubbed on the souls of my feet when I've felt I was coming down with something. I have also held some soothing scents and peppermint up to my nose a few times for anxiety/headaches. My diffuser and calming/soothing blends are going straight into my hospital bag for labor, though and I can't wait to start using them regularly again!
  • Week/Fruit: 22/papaya

    Rants/Raves/Symptoms: headaches, headaches, and heartburn!

Upcoming appointments: 1/26 with new OB!

    Questions for the Group: none

GTKY: What baby gear/item are you most looking forward to purchasing/receiving?

I've been stoked to buy/receive everything so far and I'm sure I'll remain stoked on items to come. DH put together the swing today and it made me cry to think that my baby will be in that swing in just a few short months!
