I'm just curious, I hear that most of the time first babies go past their due date. Is that true for most of you? I'm really hoping mine comes on time but i guess you never know
FTM, and I was 2 weeks early. I think it really depends on the person and your situation. I have two other friends who had babies recently and they were also upwards of 2 weeks early. I was the only one who was induced.
It's a natural 4 week variation. Most people give birth sometime between 38 weeks and 42 weeks (no sane doctor lets patients go past 42 weeks in Western medicine). Good info here: https://evidencebasedbirth.com/evidence-on-inducing-labor-for-going-past-your-due-date/ Most notably "50% of all women giving birth for the first time gave birth by 40 weeks and 5 days, while 75% gave birth by 41 weeks and 2 days."

STM here #1: 37+1 (water broke at 37, contractions started early the next morning) #2: currently sitting at 38+2 (38+3 in a couple of hours....) and starting to get discouraged even though I know I've got plenty of time.
I always thought each baby came sooner and labor was shorter. Labor was only 2 hrs shorter this time but I think that is because they flooded me with pitocin. (Anyone else given pitocin AFTER baby was out, too? I thought that was strange...)
First baby came at 41 weeks after 3.35h of labor from first contraction to last push with no intervention at all. (but 4 weeks of prodromal)
I'm currently 38w6d with my second, going to get checked in 4 hours and hoping to hear something such as "wow she's almost here!!!! Go for a walk and come back to push!!!" (A girl can dream right?)
FTM here and went exactly one week before my due date!! I was so surprised since everyone kept gracefully reminding me that FTMs "always" go past their due date. Ha NOPE sorry people you were wrong

Our hospital gives pitocin in order to help with blood loss and to help your uterus contract back down to size, like what happens during breastfeeding. They just give you the extra push so you don't lose so much blood.
FTM and I delivered at 34w3d. Water broke at 34w, and no definite answer as to why I ruptured. 2 days of Pitocin and a foley bulb later, he was here. No problems during pregnancy and everything looked good with baby and I during and after the delivery process.

Baby #1. Went at 37 and 4. After walking for two days, contractions started.
Baby #2. Currently we're at 40 and 3. With no labor signs at all.
All pregnancies are different. Though my two close friends both went over with their first babies and both ladies were induced after 41 weeks.
DD was born at 37+4.
DS was born at 39 exactly.
