hi ladies!
Just wondering if anybody else is going through some of this too and what you are doing about it.....
Overall I'm feeling good at 6 weeks 3 days but I also feel more tired in general. Even on the days when I've been very tired, I feel like when I actually lay down in bed it takes a while for me to fall asleep even though physically I feel as if I could pass out just about anywhere. Anybody else? Any suggestions or recommendations? I'm guessing some of it is that my brain has not fully turned off. Also, I have a new position at work that has been very overwhelming and I'm also starting night classes. I think my brain needs to get turned off too.....
The other thing, the salt.....I'm somewhere between MS and not.....I wake up fine usually and have been having my protein shakes for breakfast which have been going ok. Monday I was definitely ready for my snack at work (apples) and started feeling a little queasy before I ate. The more of the apple I had eaten, the better I was feeling. Yesterday I had my apple but I was still feeling hungry so I had a handful of saltines with peanut butter. Seemed to do the trick and was amazing too.
Today, I had my shake and almost as soon as I got to work I was borderline still hungry and queasy. the only thing that sounded appealing was the saltines. Had a few of those. It came back around snack time and my apple was the last thing I wanted but I made myself eat some of it anyways. Then the crackers were my saving grace.
Probably an hour later though the queasiness came back.....I'm not ready to call it 110% MS but I feel terrible for eating all this salty carby stuff!! I know its not healthy!
Anybody else?
Re: Give me all the salt and having issues sleeping
I don't know if you like them, but unsalted (or i suppose lightly salted) sunflower seed kernals are a great snack to munch on don't seem to make me queasy. They have tons of good stuff in them.
I've also been munching on cheerios haha not much better than saltines but they do have iron I think. And then for sweets I've been having dried fruit (with sunflower kernals and chopped pecans) and sometimes those little mini rice cake poppers. Also I've been obsessed with avacados with a little sea salt on top.
Just some ideas that might be able to add some variety to this rough stage. Hope you feel better in the coming days!
Girl, do NOT feel bad about eating PB & crackers. Peanut butter is good for you, and I say go for whatever it is that will make you feel better as long as it's not bad for the baby (i.e., a vodka tonic). I'm normally a huge fan of salty treats, but right now I am all about fresh fruit + peanut butter and banana smoothies.
It sounds like you do have MS. For me, if I go so long without eating I feel queasy, too. I bought some healthy snacks (granola bars, veggies and hummus, etc.) to keep at work so they're there when I need them.
I have wanted nothing but pretzels, crackers, regular potato chips and the likes for about two weeks. Im trying to drink all the water i can, i never had a problem drinking water before but with winter and all the salty snacks my skin is just so soooo dry.
So you are definitely not alone!
I actually don't believe in this at all, but I always thinks it's fun to guess. I flip flop between craving salty or sweet every day of my life - regardless of pregnant or not, so who knows!

@blessed&favored2016- ha! I don't think I could even eat 4 pieces of pizza right now! I had my breakfast already and am feeling queasy just sitting here!
@ElcaB- I'm not currently working out but I want too. I'm currently training for a new position at work and also taking night classes on Mon and thurs nights and I've been too brain dead to do anything. Studying for my night classes on the nights I don't have class is my priority right now but I do hope that once we get past 12 weeks i'll be feeling better and have a better grip on a few things with the job and school and i'll be able to start walking at the very least. I really wanted to do some yoga but I just haven't had time or energy.
Thanks for all the support and input ladies, I know that a few saltines here and there isn't going to kill me but I swapped out my breakfasts now to egg sandwiches on an English muffin (more carbs) which seems to be going better than protein shakes. i am thinking i'm going to call my dr though too to see if she'll call something low dose in for me because I've been getting queasy if i am up and moving around now too at work. nobody knows at work yet and i need to keep it that way for at least another 3 weeks or so.
