Baby aspirin

The doctor suggested I take baby aspirin this cycle but I forgot to ask if I start now (CD3) or wait until after my IUI.

For those of you who take it, do you take it throughout your cycle?

Thanks :)

Re: Baby aspirin

  • Hei @laurenlalap!
I haven't taken any baby aspirin, as I didn't heard about it before I started joining this forum.
But what I have picked up most start before IVF together with their IVF medicine, so I would reckon you'll start before IUI as its supposed to improve ovarian response, uterine and ovarian blood flow velocity.

But do see if you can get a hold of your doctor, to see what they had in mind

  • Yes! I do.

My RE recommended baby aspirin as well. I started CD3 and he said to continue with it until he says otherwise. Coincidentally I responded differently to letrozole this cycle.

Last cycle I had two follicles develop {18cm and 16cm} at trigger time. This cycle on my CD12 u/s, they found 5 developing follicles around 10cm. I go back on Friday to see if some have stopped growing. Hopefully I don't have 5 follicles measuring at 18-20cm.

  • Just for your knowledge, DW takes a baby aspirin everyday for a blood clotting illness she has. It's a commonly used blood thinner so it doesn't matter when in your cycle you start it.

  • My RE has me take baby aspirin through the whole cycle.
  • I took baby asprin throughout my whole cycle the last two times I got pregnant naturally. Unfortunately, I have lost three pregnancies very early on, but the baby asprin, coupled with lots of water and yoga, did the trick twice in getting me pregnant. (Or, of course, it did nothing and was just a major coincidence, but I feel otherwise.)

  • I just started taking it the day after my IUI. I've heard it helps with implantation, right? On my 7th IUI so it can't hurt right? If this doesn't take, it's on to getting a Lap  :s I'm worried I should have started taking it at the start of my cycle. Does it matter?

I have never heard that it helps with implantation but what it does do is thin your blood so there is less chance of a CP or early miscarriage due to clotting etc. I don't think you have anything to worry about with the timing as baby aspirin works very very fast and lasts for days.

  • @RipleyLV426 sure thing! Glad I could help. Good luck to you on your up coming cycle.
@ultratomato baby aspirin is used for all types of cycles including just getting it on. How many cycles have you tried? Are you getting pregnant at all?
