Cecilia?

I really love the name Cecilia. We are considering spelling it Cecilja because that is the spelling in DH's native country. Not sure on that though because we have a random J in our last name too, so it might be too much. DH is semi on board with the name. His reservation is that he thinks its a little clunky to say with all the syllables. This doesn't bother me because I love long feminine names with lots of syllables and vowels lol. I guess we could use a nickname, but I really hate Cece, which seems to be the most common. Thoughts on Cecilia and any suggestions for nicknames?

Love Cecilia. Probably wouldn't put the J in there if you live in the US, it will plague her for forever unfortunately. No one will ever get it right. I think she will likely be called Cece (and she may like that NN even if you don't). Other NNs could be Celia or Lia.

I love Cecelia. My grandmas name was Cecile and grandpa always called her Celia.

I wouldn't do the j with there being a random j in the last name too

I'm not sure about using Celia as a nickname since it is an actual name itself. They sound almost too similar to be a nickname and I don't like it as much as Cecilia.

Love it! My DD's middle name is Cecile after a French relative. So yeah I think it's beautiful & I would also encourage going with your cultural spelling! Cecilia is the patron saint of musicians as well which is cool!
