Twatwaffle Tuesday

Yes, it's Monday and I've never started one of these before but today I just had to. My twatwaffle is the lady at the wic office. Another mom was there picking up her wic checks the same time I was. She had just admitted she isn't giving her baby any breakmilk. Immediately after they all made a huge deal loudly congratulating me for now exclusively breastfeeding DD. The look on the other mom'mom's face absolutely broke my heart. I told them it was nice after DS was formula fed but was definitely very hard. I hope it helped her not feel so bad but I'm mostly disappointed that she was shamed.

    That's awful. I hate it when people try to make others feel bad about their personal decisions.

    @steffnstuff After my own experience I always think how do you know they had a choice.

    Ugh, that is terrible. No mom should be made to feel like they are doing anything less than the best for their baby. Having so much trouble with my supply, I know how guilty I feel that I can't make enough for my baby. I'm sure that mom already feels bad enough, she didn't deserve their judgment. People suck.

    My dog is a tw. While I was changing DD, he dug into her laundry and chewed holes in two of her onesies. Then he jumped up and scratched my incision. Then he licked my sandwich. He usually runs 20+ miles a week with DH, but he's had to stay home lately bc of the cold and seriously needs to burn off some steam. Looking for a doggy jacket before I lose my mind.

    No thank you. I do not need you to take my kid for a walk while I do chores and run errands. If you really want to help offer to come with us to run errands or do one for me!

    This, namely my DH has made the twatwaffle list today. He comes home after working and all he wants to do is hold the baby while playing video games. Not do the dishes, take care of the dogs, do laundry, or anything else, keeping in mind he doesn't get up at night for anything. This whole 24 hour maid service thing is really getting old.

    People who come to visit and dirty up dishes. People came over and wanted a cup of coffee and a glass of water. Left said cups on the coffee table when they left. Also, tried to drink hot coffee over the baby while holding her.

    DH is a twatwaffle for going back to work today. It's a whole different ball game now that it's just DD and I.


    Also, my neighbors are huge TWs. The owner is renovating everything and has workers in and out all day long. This has my dog going crazy! Come on people we just want to nap in peace. Lol

    The receptionist who asked if oral thrush was an emergency (???!!!). Well obviously it isn't an emergency but it will only get worse without treatment so I'd like the next available appointment, I'm bf-ing a 3 week old which is challenging enough as it is!

    This, adding to it that hubby is not working full time and WILL ASK ME why the laundry isn't done yet. All that before bitching because i forgot to close the upstairs bathroom door. Not only is he demanding and lazy, HE DOES STUFF. He goes to the gym when he wants. He went to a basketball game with his brother last night and going to another one this week. 

    And he still somehow finds the time to feel inconvenienced on a fairly regular basis.

    Yesss to the above. DH finds the time to workout, work on projects, and play the guitar. He then complains about the laundry and dinner not being made...umm what??

    I'm also a TW because I poured almost an ounce of breast milk into the bottle warmer instead of water. The sleep deprivation struggle is real...I wanted to cry.

    My work is a TW. I am the first in the district to have a child, my manager is new (and young with no kids) and the district manager is a clueless man. No one had any clue about maternity leave and now I'm back at work pumping in an empty house on property that had no running water because my manager forgot to prep me a room to pump in.

    My baby's tongue tie is a TW!
    We got it clipped yesterday but now it's like learning to breastfeed again since he doesn't know what to do with his now fully flexible tongue

    I'd like to add my mom to this because telling me I just need to relax does not make breastfeeding easier. Today I told her we'really both finally getting what works for us right now figured out and are more relaxed and she is now gloating a bit that she was right. Actually finding the right position to deal with fast letdown is what helped but thanks.

    @mhuber223 We tried reclining after the LC in the hospital suggested it. Finally figured out side lying hold works very well for us. I lay a folded burp cloth under her cheek and DD is able to dribble milk out the side of her mouth and keep drinking that way until it slows.

    @Mizuiro007 Thanks, I'll have to try that. We're doing all kinds of things to help DD's gas (Giving up dairy is a huge twatwaffle) and I know letdown can contribute.
