4 month old losing hair??

So I've noticed the hair on the back of his head is becoming less & less, and I see a lot of it on his bed, bouncer, car seat... I'm assuming it's rubbing off because we use those things a lot. Anyone experience this? It's nothing 'bad' right? It will grow back?

That happened to my son. All of it fell out and grew back thicker and a different color. It's pretty normal for it to fall off the back of their head :)

  • Thanks. One of my friends was shocked that he's losing it "at his age". I'm thinking... He's only 4 months!!

Most likely it's normal unless it's some rare condition but I doubt it. Never hurts to ask the Pedi at the next check up.
  • My LO has the same thing. His hair has thinned out a lot on top and he has a total bald spot on the back of his head. Our niece had it. It's just because they spend so much time on their backs for sleep, plus in carseat, swing, etc. Once they're able to sit up and don't spend so much time with their head up against something it should improve! Like PP said, you can always check with pedi at next appt for peace of mind but definitely doesn't sound like anything to be alarmed about!
  • My LO is 5 months and still slowly losing her hair, the back has a huge bald spot because of friction, she moves her head back and forth when she sleeps. We find little hairs where she sleeps. Pedi said its fine. I'm just hoping she won't be like me, I was basically bald until I was 4. I have pictures of when I was 2 and I have peach fuzz for hair...
