How are you feeling/symptoms: Yesterday sucked...I made a delicious dinner that I couldn't eat because it made me nauseous...I was a walking zombie...today I'm feeling ok, but I usually don't start to feel crappy until towards the end of the day, so we shall see...

Rave/Rant/Randoms: I'm driving myself crazy trying to pick a birthdate for this LO...Since I will be an RCS, I have some say...and Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten dates are messing with my head...

How are you feeling/symptoms: Fine, still just slightly swollen boobs, maybe a little tender. Pretty minimal side effects otherwise - but maybe some nausea here and there that I'm too busy to focus on

Doing anything baby related today? Nada, just creeping around on this board looking for something to distract me from work.

Rave/Rant/Randoms: Random - my 13 month old got ear tubes yesterday! He's has fluid that wouldn't drain out of his ears for a while and 4 or 5 ear infections throughout his first year, so yesterday was an exciting day. Hoping to see some improvement! He was such a brave little bugger

GTKY: How did you meet your SO/DH? My husband was one of my residents while I was a resident assistant in the dorms at URI. We became best friends during the year he lived there (he had a GF at the time and I was seeing a couple different guys). The following year he moved off campus and we started dating in the Fall. Everyone gives us a hard time but honestly, nothing happened in that first year other than perhaps a little drunken flirtations...

How are you feeling/symptoms: Feeling like normal. Had cramping yesterday, but lasted only a couple of hours. Small little waves of nausea, but not sure if their legit or my mind paying tricks on me

Rave/Rant/Randoms: Tonight involves my first night out with friends who don't know. We usually get together for food and lots of drinks. My cover story will be my new years resolution was no drinking. We'll see how far that one works.

GTKY: How did you meet your SO/DH? We met online. Dated for a month, then practically lived with each other after that and got engaged at 9 months.

For us it was definitely a case of 'You know, when you know.'

How are you feeling/symptoms: Symptoms come and go but constant sore boobs and extreme thirst. Nausea when I don't eat regularly.

Rave/Rant/Randoms: I hate being PGAL! I had beta HCGs drawn this week and were not as reassuring as myself or OB would like. They are scheduling U/S for next week to see what's going on. HCG is high for weeks gestation but did not increase by much over 24 hours. So anxious and worked up that I even took today off of work. I just want this so bad!

Questions for the group? Anyone is similar situation with previous pregnancy? Beta HCG go up high but then not move much. From reading, I know that the doubling time is much longer when the beta is >6000 so just trying to think positive about that.

GTKY: How did you meet your SO/DH? We lived in the same apartment complex while I was in medical school. Met while I was walking my dog, technically.

How far along are you? EDD? 4w2d, due 9/20

How are you feeling/symptoms: I'm feeling blah, but that's because I'm getting over a stomach virus. One I suffered with at work for the past two days so as to hopefully not get my son sick and because I am totally out of days off from him being hospitalized most of November and yet here I am at home today because now DH and MIL (who would be watching him) both have it. Oh well! At least I can enjoy the day with him vs. feeling like death. I just really hope he doesn't end up getting it because what landed him in the hospital began with a gastrointestinal infection

Doing anything baby related today? Probably not. It hasn't hit me yet.

How far along are you? 7 weeks today!! EDD? 9/1

How are you feeling/symptoms: Today was the first day I woke up feeling sick. Usually, I feel not-great-but-not-awful until stronger symptoms kick in later in the day. Hoping today is a fluke and not the new normal.

Doing anything baby related today? Nope

Rave/Rant/Randoms: Random - at my "nurse's" appointment yesterday, they covered the various genetic testing the practice offers. One of the screenings can be completed any time after 10 weeks and includes the baby's sex! We're team green so I'm indifferent - but do think it's pretty wild that sex can be found out as early as 10 weeks these days!!

GTKY: How did you meet your SO/DH? My first "real" job (other than babysitting, etc) was as a hostess in a Denny's-type restaurant when I was 16. DH worked there, too. Somehow, I had the nerve to pursue him (adamantly, I might add, haha) and the rest is history.

@noelani42 When you're talking about kindergarten dates do you mean whether or not your child is going to be the very youngest or very oldest in his/her class? Anyone with a late Aug/early Sept due date is right on that cusp so I've definitely thought about it! Being an elementary school teacher (if I'm remembering correctly), what are your thoughts each way?

How are you feeling/symptoms:
I was so nauseous last night before bed, I tried the B6 and Unisom combo. I got such great sleep! I think it was the first night I didn't dream(or didn't remember them) and it was so much more restful. But this made me think I probably wouldn't be able to function at work after taking it.

Doing anything baby related today?
Nothing particular

Rave/Rant/Randoms: I have been craving sushi for the last week or so, but last night I made Salmon with Sriracha Cream sauce. Oh so good. Not exactly sushi, but hit the spot.

Questions for the group?
I was lurking on TTGP and the beauty products conversation caught my attention. Especially the part about not being able to use Proactive during pregnancy. I love the way the Proactive Plus face wash and moisturizer works for me, even with the change in hormones, but I'm wondering how many of you have cut that out also?

At what point to you draw the line between realistic and overboard recommendations?

We met at a gas station. I still had my CA license plates and he mentioned he was from there also. We started talking about differences in food, and he invited me to dinner at one of the restaurants.

How are you feeling/symptoms: Great! Nausea has vanished, I've been feeling well the last two days and hope it continues.

Rave/Rant/Randoms: I just found out my DH is coming home today!!! They had started canceling the chopper flights so I assumed it would just be another day that he wouldn't make it home. But they just rescheduled his flight!! Eeek I'm so excited!!! It's been a long 3 weeks!!

GTKY: How did you meet your SO/DH? Online... I was looking for a roommate, He had just bought a house and was thinking of renting out a room. After talking for a while we met and went out for dinner. At the end of it he said that I couldn't be his roommate because he liked me and he wouldn't be able to handle me dating other people. And then he asked me out. I moved in 6 months later. lol

5 weeks 3 days

I threw up for the first time right after dinner. Not sure if I over ate or the food just didn't agree with my body. After dinner I went to bed early as I was exhausted. Hoping I don't get as sick as I was with my previous pregnancy. It was horrible!

Nothing baby related today.

Met my husband at our job basketball tournament. We both played on different teams and I had my eyes on him the whole game.

How far along are you? EDD? I'm 7 weeks 1 day with an EDD of August 31st but it's a bit weird because our ultrasound tech put us at 7 weeks which would make our EDD September 1st and my OB went with 7 weeks 1 day (which was what my LMP put us at). So, I'm a bit on the line

How are you feeling/symptoms: Okay. The fatigue and sore breasts has been crazy. I haven't had any vomiting, but the nausea woke me up at 4:30 a.m. and I had problems getting back to sleep since my stomach hurt so much!

Doing anything baby related today? Probably not, other than Bumping.

Rave/Rant/Randoms: This is going to sound weird, but I'm kind of paranoid about getting ahead of myself -- like I haven't purchased anything for the baby or any maternity clothes. I'm holding off until I'm further along. (I also have concerns about genetic abnormalities, so I guess that adds to it!)

@CClark2014 - As I've said before, I'm not crunchy at all... although I stuck with the normal known guidelines last time around, I wasn't too concerned about the little what-ifs. I used my regular body products/makeup all the way through without any concern. I think you need to find a good balance for you - you'll find people on completely opposite ends of the spectrum.

@amandam925 - That sounds perfectly normal to me. Last time around I held off on buying anything until our 20 week ultrasound - not sure if I was afraid of jinxing things or just trying to pace myself, but let me tell you - 40 weeks is a LONG time. Save the buying/nursery decorating for 2nd trimester when you're feeling better.

@CClark2014 I use Proactiv and will continue to use it. That is just one of those things that I don't worry about during pregnancy. Nothing wrong with stopping use if you are concerned though.

@JennM205 we are doing the genetic testing due to my history. We did last time as well and were team green and I made sure everyone knew not to tell me when they were going over those results! This time though, we are finding out the sex. But I think I will have the genetic counselor write it down and put it in a sealed envelope to open later by ourselves. I'd like it to be a little more special than hearing results over the phone!

@JennM205 Yes I teach 3rd grade and used to teach Kindergarten. In my experiences, I never understood why people pushed their LO's into school so early when they weren't developmentally ready. Boys especially often had a very hard time in Kindergarten when they started young. That being said, my daughter was born September 17, so she's past the cutoff and won't be starting Kindergarten until she's almost 6 and I'm happy about that. California also has a program in its public schools called Transitional Kindergarten (TK) for students born between 9/2-12/4. I'm happy my daughter will get to participate in that. That being said, this little appleseed is due 9/9. Because I'll be having an RCS, we should be scheduling it about a week early. If baby is born 9/1 or earlier, she will meet the cutoff and can attend Kindergarten right before turning 5, or I can choose to hold her back a year, but she won't have the option to go to TK. If she's born 9/2 or later, she will start late like her sister and start right before she turns 6, and she will be able to go to TK...I'm just not sure what to pick...

@JennM205 my bday is 9/30, in Maine the cutoff is the first week of October (or it used to be) so I was able to enter kindergarten as one of the youngest in my class. I always thought it was really cool to be so young (even though it was a bit annoying to be in college for the first month or so as a 17 year old - had to send permission slips home for using the gym, chemistry labs, etc). I think being younger pushed me to want to do better than some of the older kids in my class (and I'm super competitive). I always thought it worked out in my benefit to start young.

My first son is a December baby so he will be with the 2015ers, we will see when this babe comes, and would really prefer them to be 2 years apart in school but won't hold him/her back if they are ready!

@noelani42 My daughter was born Sept 12 so I'm in a similar boat. I don't mind her being one of the oldest in her class (in same ways, I actually prefer it) though I do worry a bit because I feel like she's going to be developmentally ready long before that. I wish Illinois had a TK program like you describe - seems like it would be perfect for her. Instead, we'll probably just put her in an extra year of pre-school (starting at almost 3 instead of almost 4) and do our best to keep her challenged and out of mischief!

Meanwhile, baby #2 could end up being one of the youngest in his/her class (like you, @AnnaS930). I like that this means he/she will be closer in "school age" to DD but I hope that it isn't too much, developmentally. We will see how it goes when the time comes but I'm not against sending baby #2 to school a year later if needed. It'll be a tough decision then even with a good understanding of my child and his/her level of development, performance in preschool, etc in hand. I can't imagine making that kind of decision now while pregnant, imagining an unknown child five years in the future. Good luck!

How are you feeling/symptoms: A bit tired, boobs are a bit sore, and really just not feeling like eating food. It all looks so blah to me.

Rave/Rant/Randoms: I had one job phone interview today. That went pretty well. I also got 2 e-mails from HR reps at two different companies asking for more information. So hopefully this is a good sign! Yes I know I'm looking for work while pregnant. I don't have to tell them that during the interview!

GTKY: How did you meet your SO/DH? We actually met in college. It was my Junior year in one of the only classes our two majors shared. He told me later he sat where he did so he could be near some new girls.

He had already met the ones in his department and knew them well, so he thought he'd sit next to some new girls and help them out. Or in my case, end up marrying them.

GTKY: We actually met on Match. It turned out to be the last day of his Match subscription and one of the first days of mine. My friend set up an account for me and was looking through guys. She found him and told me to message him. I did and that was that.

How far along are you? EDD? 5w6d EDD is September 9th

How are you feeling/symptoms: nipples are sore and I am tired easily. Today I had my first smell aversion. I walked into a gas station and was hit with the horrible smell of their mopped floors. What ever cleaning solution they used I didnt agree with and tried my hardest not to puke.

GTKY: How did you meet your SO/DH? I met DH almost 9 years ago in art class in my 10th grade year. He had just broken up with his ex and came into my class to speak to my friend (Shelly) who happened to be his friend too. I seen his grumpy face and asked if he needed a hug. He declined and about two weeks later our friend (Shelly) convinced him to ride the bus home from school and I happened to ride the same bus. She got off earlier than us and my other friend noticed he had gorgeous blue eyes with orange starburst around the pupils. She mentioned this to me and I, being very outspoken, turned around and demanded to see his eyes. The rest is history!

How are you feeling/symptoms: Still nauseated most of the day, but I'm managing it better I think.

Doing anything baby related today? Had out first appointment/scan today! Baby is measuring right on track with HR of 138. Feeling over the moon. Certainly makes dealing with all this nausea seem worth it.

Rave/Rant/Randoms: For some reason all I want to eat lately is soup and salad. Or anything Asian: curry, rice, noodles. Totally different than the fast food I craved with DD.

Questions for the group? I just found out at my appointment that we will be finding out the baby's sex next month! It's part of a new way of testing called a harmony test where they check for abnormalities/separate mom an baby's DNA. They are able to check for a y or X chromosome too so they can tell us the sex. Anyone else having this done around 10/11 weeks?

GTKY: How did you meet your SO/DH?
We met at a mutual friend's party. He was quite drunk on tequila and kept saying "you're really pretty" the whole night. I found it super charming apparently.

How are you feeling/symptoms: Only concrete symptom is a lack of a period. If I didn't track these things I would probably not realize I was pregnant.

Rave/Rant/Randoms: Last week I made a plan to go out for drinks with a girlfriend. Now I'm meeting her at the bar and I don't know how I'm gonna dodge this one on one interaction without it being glaringly obvious that I'm not drinking.

@irishblessings916 I don't have experience yet since my first was 13 months when I found out I was pregnant last time, but I don't plan to tell my 4.5 year old and 2.5 year old for awhile mostly because 8 months is a long time to wait. I am semi prepping them though by occasioanlly saying things like "maybe mommy will have another baby one day, wouldn't that me fun?" I will probably tell them when there is a bump so they have something to conceptualize, but since this is my 3rd we probably won't have to wait too long!

How are you feeling/symptoms: besides exhausted, today is the first day of serious hard core morning sickness. Eating my scrambled eggs this morning was torture but I had to put food in me to go to work. I munched on tortilla chips all day to keep me from puking

GTKY: How did you meet your SO/DH? It depends on who you ask. He says we met while I was working at Disneyland when I signed our mutual friend plus two other people into the oak for the day (he was one of those other people). I remember our friend but don't remember him. I say we met at a bar two months later where a different mutual friend's band was playing

As far as the schooling goes I am right there with you ladies. My 5 year old (his birthday is Aug 3rd cut off here is Sept 1st) is in a cross categorical kindergarten IE: a special ED kindergarten. His birthday is Aug 3rd and I am so glad he is in this class instead of a main stream class. He just wasn't ready. Next year he will be in a mainstream kindergarten class. I really hope this baby if born after Sept 1st!

How are you feeling/symptoms: Extremely tired! I took a nap today at 10:30 and didn't wake up till 1:30! My boobs are still super sore!

@TheTamedShrew we will be doing the genetic testing bloodwork as well. Although my MFM/hospital does the Panorama which is the same as harmony but just a different company. We will be doing the NT scan and probably an amnio as well since the blood work doesn't test for the genetic disorder our last baby had. I'm excited to find out the sex so early this time! I mentioned above that I want them to write the sex down in a sealed envelope rather than them just telling me over the phone.
