Pregnant after 35

Strange but true

I just had to share that I have been chomping away on wasabi peas all morning at work and it is by far the most effective thing I've found for staving off the nausea so far. It was just weird enough that I had to share!

Re: Strange but true

  • I've read a lot of women have spicy cravings. The weirdest food that helped my nausea was mussels. I was scared to make them because I felt like it was either going to help or make me throw up and I really wasn't sure which way it would go. It turned out to be the absolute perfect thing.

  • I find that spicy, crunchy chickpeas help (they have various flavors at Whole Foods). I like the chipotle one the best.

  • Yum! That sounds so good, @Mamafesto ! I'm gonna have to go get me some!
  • I craved spicy food during my first tri too! Mostly Mexican food. I swear, I carried a bottle of Cholua around with me so I could douse most of my food with it! That and I found Smartfood to be particularly good my my nausea.
I'm nearly 15 weeks and I am mostly back to my normal diet although I am definitely eating more frequently and when I have to eat, I MUST FEED!
  • Interesting.  I've been craving spicy also.  I just bought my hubby some wasabi peas and he offered me some but they did NOT sound good to me.  I may need to reevaluate.  :)

Trying to find carb alternatives this pregnancy. I know I overdid it with those with my DS.
