My daughter was 18 months when I found out I was pregnant. I nursed her for mostly for naps and bedtime but also once or twice during the day. It hurt since your boobs are sore anyway and my supply dropped but that's ok since we started giving her coconut milk first, then I would 'top her off' with nursing. I would get pretty bad bh contractions when I would nurse her but they would stop after I was done. My doctor just said to cut down on the nursing, preferably by the third trimester.
She weaned herself when I became 6 months pregnant, a couple weeks after she turned 2. One day, she just refused to nurse. I think it has to do with my milk changing for the new baby and she didnt like how it tasted. And i was even preparing myself for tandem nursing if that was what it came to.
