First OBGYN appt tomorrow!

Seeing my OBGYN for the first time tomorrow- I think it's a bit early but the doc office based my appointment off my LMP, and I always ovulate late. So I'm pretty sure I'm only 5 wks 5 days but they think I'm a week further along. Anyway, I'm seeing the doc who did my D&C and am glad to be seeing her under more positive circumstances. I guess they'll just take blood and urine sample and schedule me for a transvaginal ultrasound. Not a huge fan of those...


Tried for DS for 1 year; one dose clomid Nov 2011 = DS born on 8/10/12
BFP 6/30/15  MMC 7wks 5 days  D/E 8/9/15

    I'm so jealous! I have 2.5 weeks until mine still. Ugh. And yeah. The transvaginal ultrasounds are not super fun. I didn't have to have one until after they finished the bulk of my 20 weeks scan (oddly enough--I can't remember what they were trying to see. My placenta, which was low, maybe?). Anyway. It totally freaked my DH out. Haha. Men are so funny about some of this stuff. It's not like they don't know their own way around down there--but suddenly when it's medical stuff happening, it's all freaky.

    Anyway, good luck with your appointment. Let us know how it goes!

    Wow our health care is very different in Canada, you are followed her by you're GP until either 26 or 28 weeks. Good luck tomorrow :)

    Good luck! I had gotten so used to the transvaginal u/s's, I was super excited the first time they could do it through my abdomen. I felt like a real pregnant lady! (Although my small bump is still really just a "blump" -- lots of bloat, very little baby.)
    TTC#1 since Jan 2015
    BFP 2/19/15  •  MMC found at 9 wks  •  D&E at 11 wks (age 36)
    BFP 8/29/15      •  CP (age 37)
    BFP 11/18/15  •  DD born at 41 weeks <3(age 37/38)

    TTC#2 since May 2017
    BFP 10/18/17  •  MMC found at 8 wks  •  Misoprostal at 10.5 wks (age 39)
    BFP 2/16/18      •  CP (age 39)
    BFP 4/13/18      •  CP (age 39)
    BFP 5/07/18  •  MMC found at 10.5 wks  •  D&E at 11.5 wks      •  Testing showed it was a girl with Trisomy 22. (age 39/40)
    9/5/18 Diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve (4-5 follicles, one ovary had none and was very atrophied)
    RE says the low egg count is likely causing my recurrent pregnancy loss. Less eggs results in more aneuploidy.

    Good luck! It's sooo common for women to have long cycles and be later than expected, so it will be fine as long as you explain that to them. As for the transvaginal ultrasound - my OB office never offered me one, but I wanted one so badly! They said that unless I was having symptoms or was totally unsure of my cycles then it wasn't necessary. They were right I suppose.
